So £1300 will cover the import tax once in the country? Also is that posted to our door or one single address in the uk? I'll have the money next Friday (payday).

Nope, that cost is landed to a single (your) address in the UK. I have done shipping direct to all buyers. Import duty is paid post this and I have no idea what that would cost but it would be up the individual to cover any import tax.

import duty is 17% (probably), so possibly between £220 - £250 with delivery from customs clearance to your door

Suppose its not too bad if you are already at stage 3 on the Eaton and you can chop that in. If you are doing it from scratch though then yeah very expensive. Has to be worth it though esp for the hardcore trackers! I suspect in two years time there will be as many of these as eatons

Fcuked if I can justify it, even with the engine to take it already in place. In the grand scheme of things I'd get more value (and comfort) from a set of Dave the Trimmer Exige seats for the same money (and can't justify those, either). Until I commit to keeping the car for another 3 years or more, then no more big ticket bits for me.

Don't shoot me but how do you go about paying for the import tax (never imported valuable items before)? At the moment I need to hand over £1300 to cliffie, who gets the other £300?

If it get's pulled out for customs inspection, Parcel Force will bill you for their clearance fee plus the import duty and VAT before releasing it to you (and will pay Customs & Excise). thumbsup It's hit and miss. I've had lots of things from overseas and a few years back 80% of the stuff would get through without any charges but these days (and every time I've bought something VX related  ) they seem to have a poke around at the package and I've been stung.

You'll either all get hit, or none of you will, since it will be arriving in a single shipment (one would imagine a small pallet). so if there are 10 chargers on there, the duty will be around £3k, which you will all have to pay before the shippment is released.

I've never been stung for duty and have imported quite a lot from the states :D
