Just stripped my interior out to fit the topgaiter parts. Door cards/ shoulder pads look fine on a test fitting( no adhesive) the centre console doesn't seem to fit as snugly as I expected, I am hoping the adhesive will make a difference. I was hoping to use permanent adhesive but I am now leaning towards the non permanent type.

Worth adding a 5mm foam layer? As per darcini's post above, where he mentioned some padding behind stitching? This would take up some of the slack? And provide a soft area for your knee!

Just ordered a full set of door cards, shoulder pads and a centre console.
Went for black leather with yellow stitching.

£133 inc postage.

Fingers crossed it works out :lol:/>

It'll be fine, just lay out all the pieces first and identify which bit is which, as I did with mine, see below thumbsup

Something like this.... http://www.ebay.co.u...-/360549464660? 6mm should squash nicely, but also add a layer of padding to fill out any slack? Glue it to the centre console first, then glue leather over the top.

Looks promising, I have been looking in local craft shops but without success so far.

I suspect that will be too firm. I'd probably suggest a polyester wadding of say 4oz might be ideal.

In my attempt to make door card pockets to replace my ruined oem ones I bought some A3 sheets of foam from the range. 3 sheets for £2 and it worked very nicely. If you need bigger than A3 then you get a very small joint line when you put leather/vinyl over the top though.

I am intrigued - have you got any pictures of the build and final finish?

Just tackled the centre console and the results are pretty good ( not perfect ) no complaints about the quality of leather or stitching. on one side of the console the leather sat perfectly flat and took up the contours without much effort. the other side seemed ever so slightly baggy ( which could be down to the console itself) and needed extra manipulation , which was far from easy, before I was happy with it. Be prepared to add some extra cuts ( with a scalpel ) to get the fold rounds just right. The door cards where much easier to work with and took less effort to produce an acceptable result. A cheaper alternative than a professional and quite satisfying to do.

Still haven't got round to fitting in the car yet, they are sat in my computer room waiting for a clear day to coincide with a day off. So it may be a while yet. I'll try and get some pics as they are.

It does look pretty good. What do people tend to do about the triangular bit of plastic around the interior door handle?
