So can someone explain what a screamer pipe is and what it's for/does?
When the waste gate opens to stop the turbo over boosting the gas usually just goes into the main exhaust..... A screamer pipe vents the waste gate to the atmosphere making lots and lots of noise when higher up the rev range.

I'm guessing no one knows the answer to my q's then?
I don't think the VX packaging lends itself to a screamer pipe, I imagine there would be melted bodywork ahoy!

So does it have a legitimate use/benefit or is it just for noise/effect?

Lol dress it up how ever you want but it's going to make fcuk all performance difference on a low spec road car.... Yes yours is low spec in this kind of description.
Its just what I've heard not sure if there's any proof in it,as you say unless your going for a lot of hp not sure if it would make any difference, I personally just like the sound of them

They do sound nice and I agree with you but IMO I wouldn't have one on a VX.
