I am considering selling my VX220 n/a in calypso red.
I have owned my VX since October 2008. I’m either 4th or 5th owner; I will check.
Current mileage 46.5k
First registered 31st October 2002 (52 plate)
The paintwork is in excellent condition apart from the usual stone chips on the front and a small scratch near a front headlight. I have recently detailed the car using a rotary polisher. There are no signs of bubbling anywhere.
The car has the optional VSE exhaust fitted with black tips.
I have always regularly polished and waxed it and it is super shiny.
The wheels do clean up well; some light scratches but overall they are good for their age. All tyres are very good; the rears were replaced last year and the fronts about 2 years ago, but they have loads of tread left and are all Bridgestone Potenza.
2 years ago we changed the brakes, discs, Mintex 1144 pads and the fluid.
Engine mounts were changed about 2 years ago.
The car has black leather seats with only a very slight wear to the driver’s bolster. The car also has the optional centre brace fitted and VX220 branded mats.
It will come with the soft top; this has slight wear marks where the bars touch it, however does not leak and has been treated with Auto Glym waterproof protector.
I have kept it garaged in my ownership with the exception of the past year as I moved house but it is always kept parked under cover.
It does have some service history; since I’ve owned it my dad has done the service every year, he is an AA man and has also been on a course with the AA to learn about these cars. We use genuine Vauxhall parts and keep receipts for everything done to the car and fill in the service book, we just can’t stamp it. Prior to my ownership, I do have a service book with dealer history in it although I think there is a year or 2 missing.
I had the GEO set up by Guglielmie motorsport.
6ish months tax and MOT until about April.
Private plate not included and will be transferred off.
The only parts not as standard are the V grille and window surround which are covered in black vinyl. It has a rear MMG diffuser which has been shortened so it doesn’t stick out too much. I also put an Astra engine cover on which can be unclipped if not required. The car also has a Kenwood stereo and JL audio speakers which sound fantastic.
I cannot think of any bad points to the car apart from the mentioned chips and a few scratches to the silver plastics inside the car. The passenger side window rattles but I believe this can be adjusted. The car is approaching 10 years old so it will show some signs of age but overall is in excellent condition and looks almost new when clean. I would recommend viewing before committing to buy.
I am going to start with a price of £8400. Or with hard top £8700. The hard top does have a small touched up scratch on it but it is barely noticeable; I will try and get a picture of it. I am not in a rush to sell and therefore will not accept any silly offers but will consider all. If you view and would like to buy, I would like you to leave a deposit prior to collection.
Reason for sale: I now need a car to use everyday and don’t want to run up loads of miles in the VX, plus I would like some comfort and luxuries.
