All depends on where you car is currently at, no big secret but from a very well sorted stage 4 with the CC / IC, full 3" exhaust, Intake ect already there it was about the same as buying an NA to sit in the garage next to my stage 4!

My cars over at Dave Hardwicks at the moment as I had a small oil leak from the main bearing which dave very kindly let me use his ramp and helped me fix so been leaving the RTV to fully cure for a few days and plan to pick it up tomorrow so at some point next week I'll get some photo's of the cable TB in the engine bay up :)

Thats about right thumbsup

I thought about £5k when I started but that was unrealistic, also check your insurers first Aimy! I know my policy hardly went up but I'm without wishing to sound patronising a 'few' years older than you! :)

Standalone package not fitted to the vag conversions, retaining oe management as it can be configured fully unlike the vx oem one. DG

Well, I can't afford that 700hp R8 I drove last week! Made me really want something proper quick.

7k is cheap Aimy, mine was more like 12k as I went 'all out' on the build to make it as bullet proof and powerful as possible. There is no such thing really as 'stage 5' as every car by this level is quite different from another. Just a simple thing like having a different exhaust to someone can cause a big difference in price and performance. And there must be at least 15 optional major components to a build that an owner can either elect to do or not do.

Well...any "Stage" needs to be qualified with a tuner, as it equates to a list and a price tag. As Ive said before, only a small handfull of cars on here, nev and simons included are more tuned than my skyline was, and that was Stage2 by SOC standards.

Top Job! I just wonmder why it took sooo long until finally somebdoy did it. The oem ECU is sor restrictive by means of functionality and driveability Standalone is a big step forward. Not tooo important which system, but WHO is the one setting up the maps. BTW I´ve done Step 1 of a MoTec M800 Goldbox conversion on ym VXT last winter by means of having the engine running. "ONLY" :D needs the mapping...... haha. Only problem I have is that I do not work on my VX since last year as I have not enough time for this hobby ATM.... for now! :) I´ve not cut the wiring loom, but have done an adapter box this was a MASSIVE and Sh**y solderign job, based on 1 OEM Bosch ME board (cut out the connectors and solderee o the back of them, extremely tiny pins.....) that means I can basically swap anytime from Motec to OEM :) In case anyones interested in the job, there is some info on the small german forum (speedsterforum.de) and a veery short youtube vid with the engine up and running :D Good point on the MoteC System is that it uses the DBW throttle, what give massive functionalit for a VXT (Down Shift Blip, Overrun Boost Enhancement, DBW traction Control) Best regards,

Just to set the record straight  there is nothing wrong with the oem software in both the z22 and z20 pcms's, its just the calibration that cannot be exploited properly. Also there is nothing wrong with an etb, ok you don't get x throttle opening with y pedal travel but that's because the pedal is a torque demanding device rather than a throttle opener :) Still sounds a good package as the pilbeam pedal was disturbing money when I looked into it.

Sc conversion will be retaining the DBW setup along side with pedal conversion option so good to give both options now I have cracked a solution The DBW solution is configurable to 1:1 ratio to about 25% but will be setting to 1:1 via in car if required Price remains the same for both options DG

Do this for NA's pleeease, I want an enlarged throttle body (not itb's - I want it to look oe). Cable accelerator and aftermarket ecu. If you could provide and fit that for a decent price, I'd be in 100%!

I'll try and get some screen shots up of the laptop running the Adaptroincs WARI software whilst connected to the car, to say its 'configurable' is some what of an understatement! :)

Sorry but having taken a few screenshots quickly realised that there's no way I can post them without also posting up EFi's & DG's intellectual property. But everything is fully configurable not only by the mapper but further adjusted by the owner if needed simply with a few key clicks. :)

If anyone wants to see WARI it's freely available to download and playwith. Not sure if you can load a base map without being connected to an ECU.

Had a drive of MrSimba's car yesterday and its very very impressive! Drives like the car would if it had come out of the dealership with 370bhp. I wasn't completely convinced in all the chat about smooth power delivery so when i first went out with Simon driving i asked him to accelerate as slow as possible from barely moving all the way up to the red line and the car was ridiculously smooth. So then i asked him to hold it on part throttle then accelerate and let off constantly still nothing no fluttering at all. Headed back to the car park where i stuck my head in the footwell to check out the throttle pedal. The pedal is stiffer than oe but felt good and controllable under foot. Be interested to see it on track with heal and toe (im still pretty sh*t at h&t though  ). At this point i think Simon was getting annoyed with my constant questions about different scenarios as i tried to convince my self it was sh*t and i really didn't need to part with any of my cash  . So he chucked me the keys, i still haven't decided if this was to get rid of me to get some piece and quiet or so that i would be completely convinced. I hit the road and tootled off doing everything that i had already asked Simon to do as i was sure i could fcuk it up. I drove it at low revs which is a little boring after being use to my little turbo boosting like hell at that point and this doesn't come alive to higher up the rev range. The only time i could get a slight flutter was holding the revs right at the point where the turbo wants to really boost and kept slowly pushing the throttle pedal up and down and it still felt fine and im sure i would never come across this driving normally on the track or the road, it was just down to me trying to find faults. I think that sums it up really that i tried my hardest to fault it and just couldnt. It pulls like a train when you want it and can be driven by your nan at low revs as long as you trust her to park it. Car was an absolute pleasure to drive although i don't want to go down the garrett route my self as i like the fact i can blow my engine up one week and could have a new one in the next as they are readily available. Not to mention i don't fancy changing gearboxes every 2 mins. It has shown me that i would love to see how this standalone package would improve a fairly standard stage 4 vx and i have changed my mind that a high powered vxt can drive as well as the hype lead me to believe. May well give it a whirl myself ;) but i would prefer someone else to go first before i part with my hard earned  so i can see if the same gains are to be had from my setup. Love the idea of having two maps as well, one for a wet track and a balls out map for the dry. Also means i could let friends or my girlfriend drive it without me being too worried. Well done all involved in getting this car to the level its at Imnotworthy and making a high powered VXT comfortable to drive in any weather. Should shut some of those whinning sc boys up now :P . This should of been done years ago!
