I dont have the car with me at the moment...does anyone know what size of vinyl i would need to create a sunstrip? What size does everyone usually go for? What colour? - My windscreen surround is painted gloss black, therefore was thinking gloss black sunstrip...but does the vinyl scratch easier than matt? Pictures would be ideal

Best about a 4 inch strip but you will need a shorter wiper blade

I was thinking of doing this but I could imagine it looking very tatty after a while, can you fit a wiper short enough not to foul the sun strip?

22inch, otherwise the mot guy may give an advisory

A windscreen sticker would fail the MOT if it encroached more than 10mm into Zone A. Zone A is the swept area of the windscreen, 290mm wide and centred on the centre of the steering wheel.

My thoughts exactly, ive always had matt in the passed but feel it wont look right...

I suppose there cheap enough to re-do / get re-done every few months

great information

i suppose fitting a smaller blade wouldnt be too bad until next MOT (although ive just folked out for the PIAA wiper, which is rather good)

I thought I would try a 22" flat blade, and got a cheapy one off ebay, as my PIAA was several years old and worn, the bosch I replaced it with was useless and fell off on the way back from spa. TBH the cheapy one was a Saville branded and was about 3 pounds and I've put them on my other cars as they were much better. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4ab2916de0

I assumed they all had them as standard - just checked a photo from the tunnel run and it looks like mine, the car next to mine and possibly the one next to that have them. Do they disappear when a replacement screen is fitted?

What do you guys have a sunstrip for? Is it mainly for looks or as the title says a sunstrip so you don't get blinded?

Mines so i dont get blinded...the low winter sun in the morning is killing my eyes...they dont look too bad either on the vx compared to other cars ive seen with them...i was debating a tinted sunstrip on the inside as i have had on my previous cars but im not sure it would look right
