There's also the 750mc Roadsports competition - similar setup in terms of race duration, etc. Also at the 750mc meets are the Stock Hatches, where the Saxo's are the vehicle of choice - so there's probably alot of knowledge there you could tap into.

Good luck and will probably see you at Combe!

Looked at both, the Tin Tops is well suited for novices too. Format wise there's not much between the series really. If you are both novices possibly Track Day Trophy would be better. Team Trophy seems to be what you progress to after Track day Trophy
You need to get a MASSIVE .org sticker
Yes this will be happening I'm in charge of prettifying the car lol and there are some questionable stickers on it at the moment! There is also some well dodgey carpet all over the dash. I'll pop some more pictures up in a bit now that it's light outside.
Let me know if I can help out at all with contacts and bits.
Thanks Mike, we'll definitely take you up on it

Thanks will have a read up on that.
I'm off to join the Saxo forum, now there's something I never thought i'd hear myself say.....

When does it all kick off?
And good luck
Thanks.
The calendar hasn't been released yet for next year, but this year the first race was in the middle of April so I'd guess sometime around then.

Ha ha, thanks.
We'll take it in turns so we'll both get to experience the terror of having cars all around us in the first few laps.

I dread to think what's going to happen when I mention what I've been doing over the last few days!!
Go on then.... Spill the beans

What's the deal with crashing (more armco that other peoples cars), it almost seems inevitable after watching the videos, are the costs down to you or is it part of the fees? Or do you have a form of insurance?

I might be planning something similar, I've got a mate who races a saxo hot rod and a saxo stock hatch, he's got me hooked!
I've got the car already, it would just stop being my daily, but I have a job interview early december that would result in me working in France, so that's the big deciding factor at the moment!

We need to fit an approved cage, extinguisher, seat and harness.
some more info here: http://www.classicsp...REGULATIONS.pdf
Is that all of the regs? If so it doesn't say anything about cages, seats, extinguishers etc.

What's the deal with crashing ?
We'll be trying not to.
Honestly, we're not sure, it's on the growing list of things we need to do/research. It seems some people do have insurance for the car but I don't know yet what the deal is with any damage that might be done to the track.

It's the VX way. Why bother thoroughly researching things/costs in advance. Fcuk it, buy the car and work the rest out later.

We've been chatting with people in the series to find that information out. Basically, you need to comply with the safety regulations stipulated in the MSA blue book, so cages, seats, harnesses, extinguishers etc need to be FIA approved.
