Unfortunately nothing. I might do a single round of the new French Car Series (Brands) so long as they come down on registration prices. With a low bonus thus year and so much expenditure (wedding, honeymoon etc) it's just not going to happen

We've been taking it reeeaaaaaally seriously, so far we've bought some driving gloves and joined the CSCC

 Ha, yeah, we really should start sorting stuff out soon.

I will do stuff when it stops raining :) Sorry to hear you're not going to be racing for the season Alex, I hope you get to do at least a few races.

So we've recieved confirmation that the car is registered in the series, and our race dates have now been confirmed!

Anglesey has been dropped for our series only, all the others will be racing there but the Tin Tops race is now at Thruxton. We're both quite disappointed about this as we've got a lot of experience at the circuit between us and we'd hoped to do well there, plus it's one of only 2 races that were close to home. It looks like June/July/August are going to be fairly busy with 2 races per month and the National, and while we'd love to go to every race meeting it looks like we might have to drop one or two.

Sun 14th Apr - Snetterton
Mon 6th May - Brands
Sat 1st June - Thruxton (might drop this round)
Sun 30th June - Cadwell Park
Sat 13th July - Castle Coombe (might drop this round)
Sat 3rd & Sun 4th August - Pembrey
Sat 24th August - Donnington
Sat 21st Sept - Oulton
Sat 19th Oct - Snetterton

Shame about Anglesey but definitely don't rule out Thruxton. It's an absolutely awesome, gutsy circuit, that rewards a clean line hugely even when you have relatively little power. Combe is also a great circuit, but might be a bit more power sensitive. The 5th May date is wrong though, that's a Sunday. Suspect they mean Monday 6th May. If you need anything at all, give me a shout - I am also currently free for the first two races and if stay that way happy to come along. Can bring any spares you think you might need. In fact as I am not racing this year, might be worth going over what you could need and see if you want any of my spares. I'm also soon to scrap the silver shell I have (VTR), if there is anything you need do let me know.

I can't speak for Duncan, but from having look at the circuit layout and reading up on what other people have said about it I can honestly say i'm not that fussed about doing Thruxton. We need to drop a couple of rounds anyway, most of the races are miles away so the circuit swap has made it an easier decision for me. But at the end of the day it is a team decision! Yep it's Monday 6th May at Brands, that's my typo, could a mod sort that for me please? Cheers re the offer on spares will sort something via PM, and all help on the day gratefully received! :)

No worries, just drop me a message and I can see if got any bits you might need. Thankfully buying a whole spares car doesn't work out much money, but you could potentially do a front bumper each race due to the plastic tabs that are designed to snap under impact. Epoxy glue is your friend for sure - I want going to hole saw mine to bits then glue both parts together to ensure no snappage. I actually manage to snap the tabs on mine by driving into my brother's girlfriend's car on the drive! Got any pre-season testing or trackdays booked yet?

We're at Snetterton on March 26th, mid week though which is a bit of a bummer!! ARDS test is on wednesday, then need to book a couple of days closer to home to get some practice in. I'm assuming that gaffa tape and cable ties will fix most things?

Most things, but the French things use loads of ABS plastic components that can crack or snap and you end up relying on 2 part epoxy. My front bumper is currently held on by some nice long cap head bolts that go all the way through, although have a whole new bodykit to go on when I have a weekend to sort it. Are they doing a track / test day on 26th or just ARDS, can only find Monday 25th. We're supposed to be moving to flexi-time with work, might be can wangle coming up and doing the day too (love Snetterton apart from the straights and not far from me).

Ah gotcha, I'll see what I'm doing nearer the time, assuming you don't mind me coming along and being nosey? Would be a great way of me seeing what's running 2013 and start getting ideas for 2014. Good luck at the ARDS, you should breeze it.

No it isn't, they used to do it in VX220's, how perfect would that have been for us both. I'm now nervous about doing my ARDS test in a car I've never driven before.

By interesting I didn't mean good! They must have got a deal on them through Pug as the ability and spec versus the (£24k+!) price tag is baffling compared to something like a Swift / Clio / Twingo. I just hope they let you turn off traction and stability control, I had to do mine with everything on and therefore fight the car trying to correct my driving.

I couldn't believe it when people started talking this morning about it snowing tonight and tomorrow.

It looks like it might be OK on Wednesday though, fingers crossed.

Wooohoooooo we passed! The RCZ was actually quite nice to drive although the driving position was a bit odd and the steering wheel was way too high! Nice and responsive, but my VX felt quite slow afterwards :(
