Up for sale is Nipper's old top hat. This is a genuine 76 mm E/D and 74mm I/D and is considerably larger than any others I've seen. I had it specially fabricated for me approx 4 years ago. It is made of stainless steel, has a machined flat base for a good hermitic seal and flows very well (I used epoxy on the inside to smooth the flow).

My old stage 4 engine made 309 BHP with it and I have been using it upto 4 days ago quite happily flowing for circa 550 BHP. It comes with the silicone reducer to connect to you existing inlet pipe and aluminium joiner and brand new jubliee clips.

Courtenays sell their (smaller) equivalentfor £90 +P&P, and I am selling this for the same. Remember this thing is proven to 550 BHP. It would work particularily effectively in conjunction with a larger throttle body I have for sale.

The pics below show it in relation to the OEM tophat, so you can see the size difference. Suitable for anyone at stage 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 !! LOL

What benefit will this have compared to the CS one?

I haven't measured the CS one, but at a guess I'd say it was sized roughly 1/2 way between the OEM unit and this unit that Im selling. The CS unit plugs directly into the original 2.25 inch inlet pipe, so I would imagine it must be less than 56 mm I/D (mine is 74mm I/D) as the casting is quite thick on it.

This one should flow better, as it's bigger, smoother, larger radius bend, slightly tapered outlet compared to the inlet (to use 'stacked' gas velocity past the TB butterfly (similar gas/fluid dynamic engineering as your inlet manifold to the cylinder head ports)).

I dunno what 'stage' of tune you're at Frosty, I would imagine the part would help from stage 3 upwards. Probably not worth it if you are runing under about 250 BHP (at a guess). When I installed it on my stage 4 car I genuinely noticed the difference immediately.

For reference the CS one connecting hose is larger than oe - the larger hose they sell also from CC or I/C to top hat gives the same internal diameter from cc / ic outlet to top hat You can stretch the oe hose over but its tight DG
