Hi,

I got these bits. They are good, and I need them. However...

The bit that I am also missing is the plastic bit that these bits clip into; you have to un-bolt the the top mount and it sits behind the metal seatbelt and fold over the belt mechanism.

I went to Vauxhall - they quoted ....deep breath... £576 as you "cannot buy this part separately from the entire mechanism". Surely that cannot be right?

Anyone got any suggestions before I give up completely? I bet they are originally on a Mini or something.

Your input much appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

As above... Vauxhall sell the complete part for £15 each. Thats the entire "plastic" part (2 pieces).

Ah. Thanks. Confused then. The guy in the dealer even showed me the little picture (with no separate PN for the plastic bit).

Which dealer did you use, please? I'll give them a call.

Sorry for making you repeat yourself.

Thanks

No problem. I'll try and look out the part number if it helps. I think I still have the parts in their bags.

Thank you for that.

Unless I am being really blind and daft, the bit I want goes between the top metal anchor and the rubber washer. The bolt goes through it and the mystery part is what the plastic triangle clips to.

This diagram is what the hapless Main dealer chap came back with; it doesn't show the bit in question.

I'll PM Cocopops; see if he has that Part Number.

Cheers

I'm getting confused now too reading this. Isn't the original Vaxhaull upper seat belt plastic cover (i.e. cap screw blanking, seat belt upper) just a two part hinged plastic bit where half bolts behind the seat belt metal triangle and the front half covers the mounting bolt - even though the picture (incorrectly?) shows a one piece plastic bolt cover? My front bits have snapped off and so just fall off if you try to put them back on. So if I try some elise parts seat belt covers can I not just remove the whole hinged plastic Vauxhall cover and just clip the Elise cover over the front or am I missing something? Alternatively, will the elise cover still clip on the metal seat belt mount if I jut trim off the broken hinge clip?

The Elise Part ones need something to clip onto. Looks to me like they need the bit that fits behind the metal triangle at the anchor and folds over to attach to.

I'm hoping Mr Cocopops comes through with a PN, or someone (usually Nelly) takes me to one side and explains who I am obviously suffering from some kind of dementia and I just had it upside down.

The main dealer I spoke to just wheeled away in horror and said I needed a whole new seatbelt mechanism.

Seriously - I give up.... :beat:

If you figure it out, please let me know.

Thank you both. For some reason that missing bit of plastic is really grinding my gears (to quote Peter Griffin).

Thank you so much.

That's the item number 2 on the TIS pic. Wonder if the picture is wrong?

Think I'll order a couple and see.

I am at that point of painful desperation where £15 for a bit of shitty plastic that I know will fall apart in a couple of years seems like cheap money.

If it's right, I may order a lorry load and just roll round in them in sheer, unadulterated joy.

Cheers for your time and effort people; I'll report back.

Excellent. I'll have to order some too. Can use my free £40 voucher for joining the Vauxhall drive club.
