First Registered on the 17th of September 2001 and with four former keepers before I acquired it as the fifth owner on the 29th of November 2006 through this VX220 forum.

Taxed until February 2013, MOT until May 2013.

A completely ‘unmolested’ example which is in the main standard specification. The only modifications include:-
  • The water ingress thingy.
  • Dash panel is painted gloss-black.
  • All four shockers replaced for GAZ coilovers which are still in good condition.
Extras included from the original specification sheet are:-
  • Centre brace.
  • Matching chrome gearstick and surround.
  • VX220 passenger kick plate.
  • VX220 engraved door sill guards.
Four standard wheels, both of the rear ones replaced under the ‘recall’ work not so long after I took delivery of the car. The wheels have the odd scuff about the place, but nothing too major and ALL four Bridgestone tyres haven’t covered that many miles, have plenty of tread on and therefore with not need replacing any time soon.

The black soft-top is in good condition, is regularly cleaned and treated and comes with the original storage bag in the boot.

So far as the mechanical side is concerned, it has been well looked after and had any work done when it has been required. It had a new catalytic converter fitted approximately 18 months ago, after the original cat disintegrated. More recently the remaining engine mounts not already replaced have been done, and the ‘throttle accentuator’ [behind where the throttle pedal is] has also been replaced to remedy an intermittent problem.

She has pride of place in the garage more often than not, has covered 61k miles and cleans up very well, though I won’t deny there are a few things I would get tidied up if I could have kept her. The usual stone-chips on the lower front part of the clam are evident, but can be covered over with a decent ‘color magic’ session. Unfortunately the commonly posted ‘imminent house purchase’ is the only reason for the sale, and I think I have priced it sensibly with a view to finding her a good home.

As the post states, I am sensibly setting the asking price at £5,750. Please feel free to contact me if you require any further information, or if you want to come and look. So far as a test drive is concerned, you know the drill, you need to be insured.

HAHA! Work in progress? I must confess I had a tidy round before taking the shots. 'Siztenboots', you might be right, I just want a fair price for her, a good home. I'm a bit gutted in all honesty. :(

At least £1,500 underpriced. DO NOT accept offers on this car or we are all doomed. It is a lovely example and if I could sell my Leon, I'd have that off you.

Too cheap. To be quite honest its so cheap it looks suspicious. I'd have that up at 7500 no offers.

My god standard NAs look good. Can't see that hanging around long. Infact Mark has probably already bought it.
