I think it's a particularly magical time of the day, the start and the end of the day, the goodbye and the welcome to the moon. Through these fifty+ years of living i have seen some spectacular sets and risings but have only recently thought of trying to capture that magic (if at all possible) on photo cells. Below are some of my attempts at the settings (as yet i've not tried the risings) that i thought that i would share with you. I am no david bailey by any stretch of the imagination, so don't expect too much (or laugh too loud). I am still trying to learn exposures, iso and white balance (among all the other) settings.

I will be returning with more or better ones but please feel free and indeed very welcome to share/add your own sunrisings and settings.

Nice pics Julian!

Here's one I took about 4 or 5 years ago on Lopud Island in Croatia. We decided to eat at that table that evening because the view was so stunning.

Lovely, very atmospheric.

I've never 'touched up' a photograph, they have always been straight out of the camera. I'd like to see what difference changing some settings would be but have neither the ability or shopping programme to do so (i used to have adobe photoshop but it got lost when i had computer problems and i didn't get it reinstalled.)

Loving your photograph. Thank you for sharing.

Posted Image ...i am very happy to see such a beautiful photographic response to my thread. I am well aware that i have much to learn and seeing some of the additions gives me oodles of inspiration. As you can see, mine are far from great, so with that in mind, perhaps you would like to share some of yours?

Best regards...

Very nice indeed. Nicely done Posted Image

I love the way the sun pulls you in to the central horizon but the waving receding wash on the beach, pulls you off to the right too. Lovely composition [/IMHO]
