This was the view this morning in dubai (after some instagramming)
Good Morning Sir.
Looks lovely
My father runs his business from his office that is in Dubai and it makes me wonder if he saw the same sunrise.
Thank you for sharing

From tonight, I was a bit late to catch the sunset.
A lovely moody shot
..it seems that those fifteen minutes or so after the sun has actually sunk below the horizon can be the best for casting the under-bellies of the clouds red and allow for a more balanced shot with no washing out.
I had a good try tonight, played with the iso settings and thought that i'd caught the magnificent sky nicely but upon loading the photographs to view them, i found that i had not made such a good job after all.
Best regards and many thanks again for your contributions...

They were off my phone as well. Hope all is well Icey. ....
Gosh...just goes to show that even a point and shoot mobile phone can get a very reasonable 'feel' to it's photographs.
All is indeed well thank you. I've been out most of the day taking my parents out for their weekly trip out, bought plenty of winter flowering plants and had a nice meal, so not too bad a day really. It's nice to see her out and about although the very obvious pain she goes through just getting in and out of the wheelchair and car can be quite upsetting.
Thank you for caring enough to ask...

Good Morning Sir.
What wonderful photographs. That water is really alive, beautifully trapping the reflection of the sun in the waves of her hand..amazing.
Thank you for posting them.
Gosh..rather you than me, i know my name is icey but winter swimming is far off my calender lol (used to be a keen biker though...my father was quite well known for it, medals and cups/trophies galore).
Best regards and kind wishes (please do post more again)...

Sunrise over Felixstowe docks.
Welcome and many thanks for your first (of many i hope) contribution.
A very nice shot. I love the composition there, the subject of man made and mother nature dominating the horizon together, the sloping curvature of the foreground and the depth of field, all perfect. Very nice. As a fledgling to photography i'm learning a lot from this thread inspired by my first flight into the sunsets and sunrises of old and new days. I do find my wings rather clipped by the restrictions of my ignorance and inexperience but both should be soothed by reached new heights and distance.
Best regards and the warmest of wishes...

Ah mobile upload fail. Just turn your head or monitor round
Lol...and well worth the effort (decided it was easier to turn my head than my laptop).
Thank you, again, for a lovely photograph.
Have a nice weekend...

I'm not too impressed with the results. I guess refraction must play it's hand but the colours of the setting sun are far easier to capture, i shall have to look in to getting the rise right.
Here's my rather underwhelming attempts (only four were worth even remotely posting).

Sunrise over Felixstowe docks particularly appeals to me.
Icey posting some really nice pics and then appologising for his skills.
Given the subject matter, you'll understand I'm a particularly $hite photographer.
This is Monk, Jungfrau and Eiger taken from my balcony.
This is Luzern.
Pilatus, I live just to the right of this.

Maldives.
Sri Lanka.
This is the car ferry from Zeebrugge arriving in Hull.
No sunrises. I guess I'm partying too much, or not enough?
Actually, I do like dawn. I'm often up at her crack. Must take some pictures then.
