Sounio, near Athens. Went for some winter swimming, with bicycle (about 120km go and return)

Good Morning Sir.

What wonderful photographs. That water is really alive, beautifully trapping the reflection of the sun in the waves of her hand..amazing.

Thank you for posting them.

Gosh..rather you than me, i know my name is icey but winter swimming is far off my calender lol (used to be a keen biker though...my father was quite well known for it, medals and cups/trophies galore).

Best regards and kind wishes (please do post more again)...

..icey

Thank you very much!

Always good to hear compliments from people who have a talent at it (photos in particular).

Also all the pictures posted here are amazing. Congratulations to all you guys.

Well the hardest part taking that picture was that i should stay still in order to keep it from blurring (old cell phone),

and keep a straight line of the sea-horizon, while freezing from the water...

This was the view this morning in dubai (after some instagramming)

Good Morning Sir.

Looks lovely Posted Image

My father runs his business from his office that is in Dubai and it makes me wonder if he saw the same sunrise.

Thank you for sharing Posted Image

thumbsup I guess that means he experienced the same thunder storms and floods on friday  it made the racing that bit more interesting, with some local drivers who have never driven in the rain! rallly

Good Evening Fellow VX-ers.

I hope that you have had a splendid weekend.

I had a few tries again to get the sunrise right this morning and would like to share my 'attempts'.

Love and best wishes to all of .org...

Nice idea thread this.

Thank you very much for saying/thinking so Posted Image

Some really nice photo's.

Posted Image

Sunrise over Felixstowe docks particularly appeals to me.

Have to agree...stunning composition.

Icey posting some really nice pics and then appologising for his skills.

Glol...thank you muchly for your kind words. I guess i've always found it difficult to see a worth in myself and/or workings that i so readily and easily see in others.

Given the subject matter, you'll understand I'm a particularly $hite photographer.

This is Monk, Jungfrau and Eiger taken from my balcony.

No sunrises. I guess I'm partying too much, or not enough?

Actually, I do like dawn. I'm often up at her crack. Must take some pictures then.

Good Evening My Friend.

Gosh...what a truly wonderful set of photographs, that last one is particularly of note, i think any travel brochure would be honoured to have such a shot adorning their glossy pages.

Please do share more. I look forward to seeing them.

Best regards...

Good Evening Sir.

My sincere apologies for not responding to your first post of two photographs. I do always try to answer every post aimed in my direction and in the order i receive them (i think that it is polite to do so) but you seemed to have slipped through the net.

I love the way the second of the first set see's the sun caught in a glass...nice idea.

Icey...well done for getting up early..as they say early bird catches the worm

Thank you. It's getting to be a habit now.

I have always spent the final part of the day looking at the sun setting. There seems to be a magic in the air and as the sun falls, so does the blanket of silence..it's always been a time for me of thought.

Nice to be able to share some of that time and thought with my fellow vx-ers Posted Image

...some great photos folks.

Posted Image

really good thread

Posted Image Posted Image

Heres one from last winter...sunrise over the fields whilst walking the dog....brrrr...

Posted Image

I love the contrast of a cold foreground and warm/hot background, you can 'feel' how those trees are thawing and hugging that sun as she rises. Lovely.

Thank you very much for sharing more of your photographs.

Best regards and wishes...

From this am, just a snap.

Posted Image (very topical..'VX') I was out today and almost took the same shot looking down the mountain pass twisting away behind me. It was raining too much to take the camera out, so had the same thought as you but, alas, didn't proceed further than just a thought.

Nice idea, i've always loved the view from inside looking back over the grills. Thank you for adding to the thread.

Best regards...

I'm really enjoying this thread and seeing the wide variety of images and locations. Mountains, lakes, beaches, city skylines and frozen fields all looking their best at the start/end of the day. Does make me want to book a holiday though...!

That's the beauty of sunrise/set, it changes so quickly. The picture below was taken just 15 minutes before. I couldn't believe how much it had changed. You can see how lazy I am, not even bothering to get up from the bar to get a nice shot.

Please do share more. I look forward to seeing them.

I took this one this morning at dawn. Sorry no sun, it's behind a mountain at that time, but lovely morning light. Again, I'm very lazy. I leaned out of bed to take it.

Actually Icey, this one is down to you. Normally I'd just look at the sunrise and think 'how nice'. Because you started this thread I made an effort and took a picture that I'll now have forever and can share, so thanks, you're an inspiration. thumbsup

You are more than welcome.

Always good to hear compliments from people who have a talent at it (photos in particular).

Thank you. I am honoured to fall within the bracket of those people that have a talent, for indeed it is an honour, as i have only just started to pick the camera up more to try my hand. Prior to this, i had taken a whole multitude of photographs of my beloved cat, a couple of the vx and a large amount of different shells but this is the first at landscapes.

Also all the pictures posted here are amazing. Congratulations to all you guys.

Thank you. Yours too to be included within those congratulations [/smiles]

Well the hardest part taking that picture was that i should stay still in order to keep it from blurring (old cell phone),

I guess that is what makes these photographs so personal to us, (an accomplishment), they all portray a scene that is never the full story, only a snap-shot of an instant that is far from the full story.

Kind regards...

Good Afternoon.

I would think that he must have. We don't share that much between us really. I would die for the man if need be but we don't share too much of our day-to-day life. It was quite a while ago that we last spoke or saw eachother but am expecting him to return sometime over christmas and we should get together then for a meal and chat.

Racing must!! have been fun with those that had never done so in the rain, i'd imagine extra vigilance of them must have been needed.

Kind regards...
