Hi Adam I have viewed this car earlier this month and from what I saw it is tidy as the pics show the reason I never purchased it was I was after a staged car and this was local to me to, "to get an idea what to look at " and trust me I looked at 11 before buying the one I have now and this yellow one made all the others look tired, I've brought a BMW m3 from this company and they are very professional not like some garages.....traders. Good luck. Black sheep.

Good to hear of someone who has viewed the car, I presume there was nothing bad that jumped out at you?

No nothing jumped out at all, the only reason I needed buy is because the cost to get this one to the stage I wanted wasn't cost effective but as I've said I looked at loads all over the country and this one was tidy .

Yeah, Happy to go and have a look if needed. Working Wed to Fri, but could be WFH Friday if all goes to plan. They're pretty local by the looks of it, maybe 10-15mins away.

Been to view the yellow car to, but don't think I will be buying, but interested in your opinions!

Initial impressions weren't too bad, although it was a bit grubby, interior was good, although the console around the gearstick was a bit wobbly and the handle for opening the front bonnet had broken, the chap had to use a pair of pliers! Exterior paint was mostly good, although I'm pretty sure that it has had a knock on the rear clam at some stage. Some pics:

Posted Image
Rear n/s light didn't line up correctly, plus a bit of paint damage

Posted Image
Bad picture, but looks like this had been painted with the clam in place, there was paint bridgeing the gap.

Posted Image
Arch liner was broken at the bottom on n/s

Posted Image
The mounting betwwen the rwear clam and side seemed to be broken, wasn't aligned, and the air intake was loose.

As noticed before, the exhaust was wonky ,although only a bit, but the mesh above it was damaged, and on both sides, where the rear undertray meets the wheelarch and the black arch protector/mud guard thingies it was missing it's bolts.

Looking at the history, the mileage seemed genuine, recent cambelt change, although the service book was missing a service between 2006-2009, so not quite as comprehensive as the advert implied.

One thing that i did notice, and also noticed on another car I looked at before I was ready to buy, the sill was cracked, not the black plastic interior sill, but the actual bodywork, I've nicked a pic from Google to show:

Posted Image

Both cars have had 15-20 cm cracks in the area ringed, going from the interior of the car outwards. Is this a common thing, and is this an easy/cheap fix?

Sorry for the long post, but figured this might help anyone else who might want to view this car.

I could be mistaken , but I think I looked at the yellow one in 2006 when Adrian Blyth dealer at Hindhead had it, then I noticed there was paint runs on the rearclam

As for the rear light that doesn't look to bad . Easy to take light out and fiddle about . Probably had rear hit light one maybe. Or just bad paint . Was the yellow a turbo on eBay?

Yes, the yellow car is on eBay and Pistonheads, been up for a while now. There is a red turbo just down the road from me, it is the one I mentioned above that also had a cracked sill. Just emailed Back on Track about potential costs in getting something like this repaired, they said it's not uncommon, so might go back and have another, proper look at it.

IMO I think it's overpriced for the condition of the car, surely 13k will get you a nice one?

I agree, I was expecting it to be in much better condition. When I said about the problems to the dealer he said "it's because they are handmade", which made me chuckle to myself

Found another potential car, the only problem is it's in County Durham, so a good 5 hour drive from me. Is there anyone on here in that area that would be willing to go and have a look for me, as I don't really want to travel that far to find the car is not worth the trip! Obviously I would be happy to pay for the persons time.

"Recently had stone chips removed Front and back" not sure i like the sound of that. Seems a really good price if its in "excellent" condition as it states

According to the map it is in Hartlepool, haven't asked the seller exactly where yet, just asked for some better photos and a bit more detailed info.

Found another car which looks good, going to see it first thing in the morning, so hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be a VXT owner!

That's quite a rare colour for a turbo adam. Liking the biscuit though (but I am biased!).
