I was wondering if anyone can help me as regards to the lower final drive Zaffy box? I have seen loads on eBay but I am not sure which is the one that I need..... There seems to be a mutitude of F23 boxes from various types of Vauxhall and I haven't a clue as to which is the best one to have, my VXT is in the process of being stripped, rebuilt and readied for track action, it will not be used on the road so therefore loooking for the best g/box purely for the track... Please help... Any information will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks Ian

Zaf GSI turbo gearbox, code DZ is the box you require

I have the DZ box on mine, be aware that it tops out at 145mph. If you intend to drive it to trackdays, 70mph in 5th is at annoyingly high revs so it's more noisy. Apart from that it is a great box and the effect on acceleration is noticable.

I have one in a shed in Monaghan if you're interested, unlikely that I'll get it fitted this year... Obviously very few of them in Ireland, it's the 2.2 zafira box, they're all 2.0 d in IRL.

I thought 3.95 was stock? The quick box is the 4.17 is it not? Or is this true of the na only? In any case the 2.2 zaf is the 4.17 iirc.

3.95 is the standard NA F23 final drive. The turbo's is a lazier 3.63 or 3.65, from memory.

Would you believe I have a Zafira gsi broken for parts, engine, kit and interior are gone, but I still have the box, must be one of the only ones in the south!

Yeah you were right on the money there Mike, Vocky is definitely the man...... OK, next question is, does anyone have the correct gearbox for sale? It seems that it's quite specific, I'm not sure if the one that Bootdog has is correct, as he says it's a 2.2 box, which if I am reading this properly is not the one that I need... But a question for 'jhinchy', is the Zaffy that you are breaking a 2.0 GSi turbo with the gearbox code DZ and 3.95 final drive as mentioned by the Oracle known as Vocky? (Cheers Vocky), you too techieboy... If so can you PM me with a price for the box inc delivery to N.London please.... Thanks... Ian
