Hi Guys.

I have owned my VX220 now for about a year, it replaced a high spec Westfield as I wanted a more useable road biased car with the intention of doing more miles in it than I did in the Westy.
In the last year I have put less than 1000 miles on the VX220 and I do not seem to be getting the use out of it that I thought I would.
I really love the VX220 and I think I'd definatly say that it's the best car of it's type I have ever owned and far better value than an equivlent Elise.

However with very little time on my hands I'm wondering if the VX220 is just too good for sitting in the garage for aesthetic purposes.
I'm therefore thinking of selling up and getting a more performance orentated family hack that I'd use more.

I'm now wondering what the car is worth at this time.
Some details below.
  • Origionally a VX220 NA
  • 03 plate
  • I'm the 4th owner.
  • Silver paint.
  • Blue leather (rekoned to be rare)
  • Driver lumbar adjustement (very little ware on driver side bolster)
  • Interior in good condition.
  • TD 1.2 wheels with good rubber (exige sizes)
  • Eibach springs.
  • Stage 2 Supercharger setup circa 240bhp (over 3k wirth of reciepts from Courtney)
  • Pro Alloy chargecooler pre rad/Bosch pump
  • Pro Alloy Rad.
  • Scotty Bob carbon ears.
  • Armorfended bodywork
  • Seat front spoiler.
  • Good service history, last full service in Feb 2011, service reciepts from Coyrtney and Plans for general work, service and chassis setup.
  • There are a three marks (minor) on the bodywork (not much stone chipping) that I was thinking of getting sorted in the new year but it's not really noticeable so I have not yet bothered. Overall the bodywork is in good condition.
  • There are some marks on the centre consoul as is common with the VX220
Since I have owned the car the Pro Alloy chargecooler pre rad, ears and spoiler have been fitted and whilst the front clam was off all the fasteners were replaced in stainless and the front end given a good clean up.
There is no corrosion around the front wishbone mounts, the rear clam's fasteners ect have been replaced in stainless.
The car has spent most of it's life garaged and this is reflected in it's overall condition.

Overall I'd say that the car is in very good condition, everythings works reliably and it goes like stink.
Mot is due on 31st March 2013 and the car is currently Sorned.
Sinve owning the car the only issue I have had was with the fly by wire throttle but this was easily fixed by stripping and cleaning the loom connections from the pedal to the throttle body.
Other than that it's been fautless.

So chaps, any idea on what it's worth.
No hurry to sell really just putting a toe in the water and can wait until the right buyer comes along.

TIA

Chaz.

Ohhh! Mot at 33060miles in March 2012 so about 33600 now I would think (too cold to go check exactly) Chaz.

p*ss off turbo girl! ;) I'd sell the TDs on their own for a start. 500-+ When I got mine 18months ago it was same kind of spec but in red. Stick it up for £11,000 and be knocked down a little.

Is the market going up or down? I have seen some strongly priced cars sell quickly this year and it seems that the right cars do sell for good money. Chaz.

if you've got a good 1 (by the add looks like you have) there's always a market for a nice clean example and with it been a s/c it won't appeal to everyone, that's not a negative btw :)/> but it will appeal to a different type of market. All it takes is that 1 person looking for a s/c Vx but how long it takes could be a few days/weeks who knows :) Just don't let it go for a silly money as it looks a good en by the description :)

alot more people will buy a stock car than a s/c car if you actually want to sell it sometime soon and its a low mileage car too

plus the sale of the s/c kit and all that stuff will be 2k i would think atleast

SC cars are still relatively rare and don't come up for sale that often. Certainly more than they used to though. Usually I'd suggest strip mods but not I a sc car. You're group of buyers is smaller but they are desirable and at the right price or wait till Spring and you'll sell it easily.
