I´m thinking of changing the bushes in my lower wishbones front and rear. I was thinking of buying OEM bushes. Is there only 1 variant of OEM bushes or is there any hard variant for example exige or cup versions? I don´t feel that that my Wheels feels loose or so, just want to have fresh suspension. I Believe the curennt bushes are very dry after 12 years. I also remembered a thread about buying new wish bones vs replacing bushes and re paint them. Does the VX uses the same bushes as the Elise? http://www.deroure.c...&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0 If so I need 6pcs A116C0036F (A111C0075F R/B) and 4 A111D0061F R/B. And 4 ball joints Any thoughs or recommendations? BR, Per

Thats what I went with, they are not like your average road car bushes with 15-20mm of rubber round them, so don't believe you need hard bushes and the associated hassle of maintaining them.

I got new wishbones with the ball joints and bushes already fitted, planned to sell my old ones after refurb but have not yet got round to it.

Whats the part number for new wishbones and do you remember the price? where to buy them cheapest?

I got the elise parts ones. Not cheap but at the time they were better priced than OEM.

Start there, I got the CDS (Black versions) seems the standard ones are still more money at 1st glance. I would just e-mail Geary about them though rather than adding the individual parts to the basket yourself.

Very hard to say, it was so long between driving with old stuff and new. Also there were new bushes, ball joints, track rod ends, springs and dampers in the mix. I suspect you wouldn't feel any diff at all however ot did make things easier.

Thanx Crabash. I Think I´ll skip this specially when I feel time is running to fast with my garage built. Thinking of buying a LSD or new set of Wheels instead, don´t know. BR, Per

Just drive it Per.

There will be plenty of time to throw money on the car later on.  :gayfight:

Do you have a differential brake? If so what do you use? Do you have any heat issues? Br, Per

No, no diff.

Yes, once. I drove it several laps on higher revs than normal and then forgot to go for one or two cooldown laps. Just left the track and parked it.

Melted the gear cables.

Lesson learned.

I've been looking up these k24 engines, they sound great. As I am sure you know people are supercharging them to good power levels... next winter's project ?!

How did you know? My engine block is ERL reinforced and sleved for FI. I have low comp piston so no higher NA power output is not to expert. And yes If my bank account agree there will be probably a Comptech supercharger with E 85 surfing next winter. But it so much you want. Wings. Wheels tires brakes ABS TC LSD trailer new paint. By the way, is it Quaife LSD you want for our cars? BR, Per

Yes Quaife for the f23... think they make a variant more suitable for a rwd application so not identical to the one used for the astra etc.

Prob better having a look at a VTEC orientated forum to see whats around, I found that there was a much bigger choice for the VAG box than for the GM, and very few seem to fit the Quaife LSD.

I also found I just didn't need an LSD even with 374bhp 375ft/lb.

Well for Honda there is a lot of choices for diffs. But few uses this fwd for rwd applications. There was a thread on this forum which I cant find about why Quaife was a good choice. Also very interesting you discovered you done need an LSD. Do you use it on track? Tell me mor about it. Br, Per

I´m such a newbie that I don´t really know what it does on track.

I still believe that my driving skills are the limiting factor.

If if you mean that I might feel the inner wheel spinning on track so no. Never had that.

One would guess that they are most use in the wet when spinning up the wheels is more likely? I remember browning my trousers once when going for an overtake in the wet and spinning up a wheel but thankfully coming off the throttle gently saved me! Given I only really drive in the dry now and don't have particularly big balls for driving on the limit, my driving skills are the limiting factor rather than an LSD :)
