Right now I have  shitty oil in my Engine and when Í have done about 200km or so I was going to buy Castrol Edge 5w-40.

This have been in my maind for the  last years and a few Days ago I found out I have Castrol Magnatec 5w-40 in my garage.

Should I go with the Edge oil or is Magnatech just as good, and I save some money?

I use maganatech and I find it fit for purpose. No idea about castrol edge as a comparison though.

TBH I don't like either because they're 4 L rather than 5 L and priced the same as competitor 5 L products.

Edge is better than Magnatec, but often it's only a different friction modifier that separates the two.

Your the oil master of this forum Fezzasus?!

What oil would you recomend? Or what oil are you using?

I´m planning for street and track abuse and Í have oil cooler.

¨This time I go for Magnatec but what for next time?

Check the date code on the bottle. If you found it in your garage then it might be old, oil has a shelf life (a lot of the additives are suspended in oil and gradually fall to the bottom of the bottle)

I would generally recommend this: p-878-motul-8100-x-clean-5w-40-acea-c3-vw-bmw-mercedes-renault-gm-dexos2-engine-oil.aspx as I know the oil technology behind it and trust it (it is also added by the factory for VW group, BWM, Opel, Mercedes, so it's not just me who trusts it!)

How old is a old oil? Hete in sweden Motul seems quite more Expensive than Castrol.

Hi again Ithought I had someone to help me with this

but I start to doubt it. So I´m looking for alternatives.

The programe code, can it be used as it is in a pic axe system.

And for a pic axe system could I use something like this?

http://www.picaxe.co...-Project-Board/

Or maybe acompletestarter kit, would this include everything I need?

http://www.picaxe.co...8-Starter-Pack/

You could do the programming interface as part of your circuit board:

http://www.picaxe.co...ge-fit,-550,842

or use a shield module as the circuit board with the interfacing on-board:

http://www.picaxe.com/docs/axe401.pdf

The shield module provides the correct power setup and programming interface and can be used (in a small box) as it brings out most of the PicAXE pins to the outside to interface to. You can mount a secondary empty/holes PCB on top (see second PDF) and use that for the various wiring connections and also perhaps to mount the VR module. Put it all in a small plastic splash/waterproof box and it should be good to go!

Bye, Arno.

Starter kit should have everything you need to program the chip and I suspect the board in the starter kit should be sufficient to get you started to wire everything up. May need some extra components for the power connection and such, but should not be too hard.

Bye, Arno.

Hi, something have been on my mind for a while now. Since I have changed from RHD to LHD

I´m afraid of the belt system s no longer working as it should.

Is there anyone who knows if the Speedster left side seatbelt retractor have the same

part number as the VX220 left side seatbelt retractor?

Thank you in advance.

ps; we use a small PicAxe circuit and a Z22SE temp sensor to generate a proper Stack ECT signal on our LSJ ecu's. Send pm if you get stuck.

What do you mean exactly, is the left hand inertia real not locking/retracting properly somehow?

Thank you Exmantaa. And about the pic axe, I have a guy making a aurdino similar  card for meand this time it seems to show up in time.

So this pic axe will be plan B.

Nev, no it´s extracting/retracting fine I think, I just care about small things like safety.  rallly

Finally I have got some time after working with the house since late September last year. I have done some car work in between but

not nearly as much as I would have liked to.

I finalised the bracebar a couple a weeks ago but when I was going to install it to the car it had bended so much it was far from a nice fit. About 3mm was missing.

I had to adjust it  big and cut the left mounting point loose and welded it on again and finally it fits.

It´s not nice looking but it will do the job and have to be good enough untill I have leaned TIG welding.

Posted Image

And again I installed my exhust after taken it on and off a few times

and this time I also wrapped by end bends hoping they won´t burn my tires.

Posted Image

Did a half open/ circulating valve cover vent solution. I hope it won´t smell when car is standing still

and it won´t suck bad air when moving.

Posted Image

Now I will look on ebay for a set of M10*90 10.9 quality.

I hope I will show some more real updates soon.

Anyone knows if it´s OK to use soap when wrapping parts just like sun film?

Interesting cross bar between the 2 sub-frame turrets, I might make the same for mine if I ever buy a welder.

I'm trying to work you exhaust out, have you got a helmholz resonance pipe in there? And how quiet is it, have been able to take any measurements with a dB meter please?

Hi Nev. No Helmholtz pipe in it. There is the manifold with a megafoner but before the megafoner I had to add a 90 deg pipe else the manifold would have exit behind the car. After this a 180 deg bend then cat and one S shape muffler. Another 180 deg bend and a straight through muffler and a 90 deg bend before exit. The lite I have heard from it Im very happy because I was afraid it would be to noisy since its 3" and my last car had 2.5" and I felt it was a lot noisier this was on the borde at 95db. I havent measured the sund level yet. But see the movie on page 21.I hade god experience with S shape muffler on my last car, so I decided to go for it on this car aswell and I believe this is the reason its not notiser. Br, Per
