Thought it was about time to change to a new rear engine mount, since my old one couldn´t handle it any more. 20 years old, close sitting to

the exhaust manifold and taking load in a different direction as design intent, it didn´t look to happy any more.

Posted Image

So I ordered an new mount and it doesnt seem to mather which way it takes load.

Posted Image

I thought I should make some morre space for my rear wheels and also get some more grip out of the rear

Will see hw this goes

Posted Image

?Posted Image

Well, I´m not to happy aboutmy silver paint anyway so I thought

some striping would spice it up.

Which alternative do ou like best? Does it work with bronze wheels and red calipers?

Posted Image

Hoping for some more progress soon, just waiting for this 3 week long cold which the entire family now have will disapear soon.

Thank you for the  warm and kind words.

You know time changes, when I bought it I was happy to have a RHD speedster.

Now I have learnt t be a father and didn´t want my son sit on the  left side so I changes this to RHD.

And so on.

I have a silver one as well and looked for a lot of colourcombo's.... In the end plain silver looks the best as I cant find cool/wow-factor matching colours for the silver.

Just not the best colour to make a match with in my opinion.

You´re welcome.
About 40% was sold in silver, so you´re not alone.

But I am yet to see a color contrast that works with silver.
Leave it complete stock, and put some silver DTC´s on it.

If you do go for go-fast stripes, please use stickers, as that will be the first thing a new owner wil want to remove.

Yay Another sensor, 150 psi 3 wire oil pressure sensor.

Posted Image

Last year I got a littlebit to much vibrations into the cupe, 2 hockey pucks are quite solid

so drilling 8 10mm holes hopefully softens them up a bit, specially now when I have a harder rear torque engne mount.
Posted Image

Trying to save some weight so I took apart the engine mount on the left side and found the rubber thing

looking like this.

Posted Image

Where do I get new engine mounts cheapest? Is this the same as in another Opel/Vauxhall model?

I guess if the right side mount is not broken yet it will probably soon.

Posted Image

Nya bolts for the fixed suspension.
Posted Image

And then I got some new extra low engine mounts
Posted Image

Both knuckles are now machined another 3mm so total of 5.5mm n both.

So now when I work with my wider fenders Also need to make space for my wheels and wheel travel.

Posted Image

So this box on the inside of the fenders, I was thinking of splitting it in half and remove material out close to the new

outer fender edge.

Anyone have any idea of hw much this "box" is strengthening the clam or why it´s there?

Probably to make it a bit stronger for those inevitable shopping trolley knocks in the car park!

But the wheel liner is sitting on the upper side of this, right?

Then could be Worth splitting this.

Wonder if I need more then 25mm wheel travel clearence?

The only way to tell is to actually stick the wheels on it (with your intended negative camber and springs taken off the coilover) and see how much clearance there is by moving the wheel up and down. I wouldn't assume that boths sides are the same, as these cars are rarely symetric!
