Imgur seems to work better than Photobucket now a Days.

I am soon about to take my car out but first to show something from earlier this spring

Have not updated this so frequently lately, but doest mean no updates are in the pipeline.

Plan for the year is make a better and faster car  :-)

First, last year I modified my seat but the seat belt gromet was to far bak so it hurted lets say.  :-)

So this is now about to take care about.

Also removed about 25mm of padding to sit lower.

Posted Image

I also hve some problem with my battery is uncharging so because of this I will removed the stereo

and then I do´t have any use of my speakers any more so some extra sound insulation

Posted Image

If you want more grip, then its good to remove unsprung weight

but I coould make it easy and buy a Elise part kit.

But I didnt, Elise shop brake disc is saving me Another about 500 grams.

Posted Image

New nice brake discs but I got no bells.

Some CAD work and Spitfire will do these bells.

Aero
Finally, Ive been thinking of installing a big wing for a long time now.

So I finally I picked up my phone and called the wing guy, he didn´t have any of "his own" wings ready

but he had this one I could get cheap. I checked this up and it should be a 997.2 RS profile.

But it cant be since the wing is older than that model, But I have compared them and they are

98.3% alike each other so I guess it´s some kind of a std wing profile andway the wing profile should be good.

More CAD work, specially now when I had some given parameters I could finalize the design. as forward as possible but still beeing able to open the rear lid.

For a long time I wanted to learn to TIG weld, and my father bought this to me 10 years ago, it was until half a year ago never used

but now I finally I bought a bottle of gas and got started.

It waasnt easy and the first 85 percent of the welding was really bad.

But I will make something bettwer for 2019.

And the CAD models transfomed themselfs into real parts, fantastic.

Water cut and cost almost nothing.

Posted Image

So Beautiful I almost cry.  :-)

And why not a 3dprinted seat gromet when you lost the old one

and the Surface is a bit uneven.

And it fits perfect, second try.

In full panic when summer is comming fast.

I have some things going on except fixing some bent Control arms.

I will try a bit harder front springs this year. 475 instead of 425 which I currently uses.

This postman wasnt dressed in Brown.

And last year i rebuilt my oilpan quite heavily and Everything wasnt going to plan.

The angle of the Engine was slightly more tilted the I thought and I got a air pocket where I have my temp sensor.

So  added a small breather pipe, so hopefully I can read the oiltemp now this year.
Posted Image

Since the aero will add some weight I´m trying to compensate and made myself a new lightweight

Engine mount saving Close to 1kg compared to last years installation. And on the littlebit to Heavy drivers side.

Real shame are you worried about expansion rates of the two metals causing cracking normally starting from the fixing bolts

Good to see the curved profile of your diffusser, instead of the angle step change 99% of them are made with.

I´´m sorry for the few updates but this update is from Before and during the summer

I still working on updates on the car and is not planning to stop unless my wife makes me.

A set of new Kuhmos medium, next time I´m thinking of go for soft  to go faste I seem like I can drive for years with my mediums.
4bSTOSM.jpg.

A last minut delivery from Spittfire just Before Wheel alignment.

A set of new toe links and new bells for my Elise shop brake discs.

aKwJBp4.jpg

I am really interested in loosing more weight over the rear of the car, the discs up in the machine for some weight saving of around
-0.5kg
5g5ez77.jpg
Screws were tightened to around 18Nm instead of recommended 12Nm since if I hade used 12 they wouldent have been tightened.
These are now in each rear corner sving 2.2kg each compared to before.
W1NISdh.jpg

I wanted to have food fluids in my Car So I hope these from Motul is good.
npxz0bW.jpg

Half of the rear wing assy is read with the fasteners powder coated
The big wing is still not on the car, both because of to Little energy and didnt have enery/ time to get the front splitter on.
foA1S7Z.jpg

The diffuser was also powder coated and it became pretty good after all.
kpKnsBA.jpg.

A Picture of the car with some stoneguard film I finally got  time to do

img]https://i.imgur.com/Gn2xlHM.jpg[/img]

I also took my time to get my panels ready, Ive been driving around without them for 3 years and it´s not very coasy in the car without them.

Now with hightech as bluetooth stereo, inductive charger for the phone  and 10hz GPS puck.
h2gbtXM.jpg.

Soon I hope there will be some more updates.

Bye Per

If not already done you can change your wheels bearings to the last version and save 2x250 g of unsprung weight.

Anyone know how much work it is to change rear window and how much weight it saves?

old version:

New version of bearing

DiCLQn.jpg

Check the inner diameter difference where the nut go.

The new verion is lighter. I think you cannot find the old one new anymore., it's superseded.

Ok I got it. Thanks

But is this for all brands? Which brand do you got?

I thought the plastic window was 3kg or something.

I had to take my rear screen out recently and I was going to replace it in plexiglass while it was out. But once I had the OEM glass one out I was surprised how light it was and couldn't see any real point changing it.

The only benefit really from fitting lexan one is they don’t shatter when stone hits them
