I want tp have a devider in the middle since I need to print this in 2 parts and glue them together.

So I will split it throught the middle devider.

I think I will do a first print tomorrow so I can test fit it.

If it come out nice I might be able to have one assambled and fitted before next track day at 22nd.

5 for me too...
I meant more flow going inside the engine bay with the scoop than without.

And a real test part.

Not printed to look good.

So hopefully I will do a test assemble tomorrow.

And hopefully there are not to much off so next print can be worth to keep.

I realize these will require some treatment afterwards to look good on the car.

Looks good. What material did you go for - just PLA?

And finally a test fit. It aint perfect. And the modeleing isnt ready.

It´s not any Point to work on the details at this stage.

First test fit, then rework and make a new variant.

Test fit the new variant and to the 3rd one I guess this could be usefull.

Anyway back to the test fit, I´m super happy. Starting from scratch I didn´t expect it to fit this nicely.

Some small tweak and a littlebit bigger one on the underside.

Regarding Material, this one is printed in PLA.

So will next one be.

For the 3rd variant, I´m consider ABS plastic or PLA dipped/painted with polyesterplastic

with hacked glasfiber in it.

I need to print it in 2 pieces, therefor it needs to be glued together and I need to use filler

and sand it with either material.

Not decided yet but I Think I will stay with PLA on this piece.

Thank you.

I´m working on V2.

It will take another week before next test fit.

Yhea agree, but I didn´t want to put to much effort into these Before knowing they would hold together.

But yesterday I was doing more then 180 kmh and the are still holding together.

So if they hold together till end of the year, I will do a left side aswell.

I thought about hydrodipping them in carbon fiber look.

But have no idea what that would cost?

Or where to do it.

Well in between trying to figure out whats wrong with my engine.

Had to limp mode home from last track day (63km/h). probebly something withd my TPS.

Change to Another one today and still have the same problem. Max 2000rpm on my Engine.

So had to test side scoop V2 today.

And it´s getting closer now.

I have changed like 7 different things compared to last one.

Biggest change is if you look in the bottom and compare to previous version.

And it also opens 43mm as most instead of 40 on previous version.

Looks good. Great job!

What do you think about extending it another ~30mm further out to get more air in?

Thanks.  :-)

Well. I´m afraid that the attachement points will not be strong enough.

And it will not look that good.

But as soon as all reference geometries are ready, this will be easy to change, if you want a set?

I was also thinking of using unsymmtric scoops. If they follow the body shape in the ends, but are bigger/higher in the middle.

you will hardly see much fifferent between left and right.

Myself is trying to get more coolers on the rights side. and if it will be so I will proably have a bigger scoop on this side.

So since I dont have a garge anymore I do my car time in front of the computer as the internet warrior I am.

So I have been working on some aero mudguards to protect my wider rear fenders.

t74LBXx.jpg

I´m not entirely happy but they follow the shape of the car nicely. Next version will be printed tomorrow.

7mm narrower 7mm longer and 3 degree angled more upwards, looking from behind.

Can someone see if my hardtop window seal sits in the right way. I have a 5mm gap between seal and window, maybe it doesnt sit right?

RzZY1hN.jpg

Next Project is a cup holder where the red circle is. I was never happy with the old one (grey in Picture) even tho it is functional.

Saving some good info for the future a picture with the weight of a Speedster/Elise rear caliper. I have searched the internet and found different info about this.

But here it is.

Scale says 3145g for OEM rear caliper
