This is one of the bars I've been to up north:
The whole way round the bar walls looks like this. You pick the bottle you like and take it up to the bar and they pour it for you. .
Was this a b&b in York, as it looks just like a place I stayed in?

its the Craigellachie hotel , http://www.thecraige...and-dining.aspx
Just realised how confusing that last post was. Yes, the one in the pictures is the Craigellachie, but the Torridon is one we should visit on the hoon.

A real woman is a man's best friend. She will never stand him up and never let him down. She will reassure him when he feels insecure and comfort him after a bad day. She will inspire him to do things he never thought he could; to live without fear and forget regret. She will enable him to express his deepest emotions and give in to his most intimate desires. She will make sure he always feels as though he's the most handsome man in the room and will enable him to be the most confident, sexy, seductive and invincible... ... No, wait... sorry... ... I'm thinking of whisky. It's whisky that does all that sh*t. Never mind ....

So what do you whiskey lovers swear by then?
I've only started drinking it within the last 6 months and hope to do a distillery tour with my other half before the end of the year.
I've only tried Whyte and MacKay and Glenfiddoch which is my favourite of the two. Hoping to spend a bit more on something special for my next bottle.

2 of the nastiest whiskys there are in my opinion.
Nice easy whisky to get you started is Balvennie doublewood
