I like the fact it is a Vauxhall rather than a Lotus.

It might have a Vauxhall badge on the front, and Vauxhall engine in the back and a smattering of other vauxhall bits here and there but it was built on the same production lines by the same people as the Elise/Exige. Build quality wise its not going to be an improvement.

That may put me off. I don't want it to self destruct. The Exige S2 was unbelievable. Having said that I did lose a 4ft x 1ft piece of plastic off my Beetle doing 145 in Germany so maybe it is my driving :) I'll give the VX220 a chance. Perhaps my Exige was built on a monday when everyone was hungover :).

Prefer a Turbo to a VXR as I've done the speed thing with other brands and have now calmed down :)/>

There ain't much difference between a standard turbo and a VXR. Published difference is 4.7 to 60 for the turbo and 4.2 for the VXR. Its only an extra 20bhp as a result of a remap and miltek exhaust.

Miltek backbox was just a dealer fit option, not standard & wasn't worth it anyway. So it was just different map, turbo & plugs. Half a second was almost entirely down to the tyres according to Stu Harris at the time.

Surely tyres wouldn't attribute to the 1/2 sec off 0 to 60? If it is then I will have to change mine!

On a warm dry track would easily account for it! thumbsup

Thanks I saw that. It made me realise I want the VX Turbo, not the VXR. Just prefer the look I guess. I saw this black one today. Don't know if it is a well known car?

Yes that black one looks nice but one thing worrying me there are no turbo splitters on the front . Either indicates a front end knock or seller took them off which is very very unlikely .any advice ring me !

It may be genuine but not likely . Even if it were sprayed you'd put them back on .

I was going to say, maybe the front had a blow over and he hasn't put them back on yet? It doesn't always mean it's been in an accident.

I just emailed the seller. Will let you know what he says. In any case I can't afford it this month as I have now bought an old 60s car. Hopefully something will come up before the end of February. Thanks for all the advice. Great forum.

Prefer this one with 1100 miles :)

but going to see a white Boxster. I think you guys may have put me off slightly if the build isn't up to S2 Exige standards :( Wish I could have both.
