I have used both Tiger Seal and Sikaflex many times but in a couple months the lense just seems to start to come away from the headlight unit itself. The headlights are the one part of the VX that really annoys me!! :angry:/> I need to find something stronger.
Spot on mate

I would try using some PU primer like FLD says, he is a guy who knows his stuff. I have always cleaned bother surfaces thoroughly before bonding but have never used a PU primer. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong??
Do you have a link to some of this PU Primer Winbond stuff to buy please Matt?
I have a very big bottle. Happy to decant some if you want.

Another good idea if you can is to bond them in position with the lights in the car. They are almost impossible to line up correctly once they have been removed so you can at least tack them on with the units in position then remove them to seal round the back.
yes i realised this when trying to fit my light this morning...lens doesnt quite fit to the car right now on one side

ill have to do this when resealing my other light tonight

Has anyone any experience of using bonding tape like 3m vhb stuff ??
Yes, i've used double sided tape on mine, then black solicone to seal the edges from water.
Been on there for a few years now, but the car only come sout in pretty weather, so not sure about the long term.

I only asked as the original stuff looks like a tape rather than adhesive
That's the main reason i use double sided tape.
Plus all the horror storries about lost lenses when using tiger seal(isch) solutions.
Main problem is no re-allining once set, so you have to do it all over if you get it wrong.
