Not a problem gentlemen and thanks for giving it thought. I'll pay the P&P to and from Mansfield, the total invoice and then let everyone know exactly what's due.

After the parts are back and checked, I can then either get quotes for return of everyone's parts and include that in the dues or let people arrange their own return P&P.

I have a PayPal account which people could gift me money through (don't particularly want to be hit for fees) or I can provide bank details for those who want to avoid fees too. I'll PM everyone with final amounts as soon as I have them.

:)

Gentlemen

I've received parcels from:
jamesclarkson
5oc
Matt_S86
Chris P Duck

I've only had a chance for a very brief look but can see they're in a variety of conditions. Some are lightly marked, others quite pitted/greasy/ scratched/bashed. Given that Mansfield have said they'll charge extra for cleaning prep and/or surfacing, I'd expect the quoted price to increase for some. It will be unavoidable for processing greasy/dirty items but please let me know if you want me to ask for any parts to be surfaced to sort out scratches, etcetera. I'm not certain of the limitations for refurbishing. If I don't hear back I'll assume you're happy to have them coated in their current condition (which I'll photograph prior to sending off).

A couple of guys have dropped out because they can't get their parts to me until next week and I'm waiting for a couple of packages to arrive tomorrow. I'm hoping and expecting that this won't affect the core price.

For those who have sent their parts, I still reckon I can get the batch sent off on Friday. My car needs its parts back on ASAP. It looks terrible right now!

I think mine are free from dirt and grease.. Some bits discoloured a little in the oven when trying to soften glue etc but I stuck them in vinegar overnight and through the dishwasher ,as well as giving them a thorough scrub and rinse. However if the surfacing is a reasonable price I wouldn't mind getting mine done if it will remove scratches. I think mine was around the £30 mark so if less than £75 total with finishing just ask them to go ahead please. Not sure how they'll do this but it's still small money. Just hope they aren't so good they remove our identification marks... :D

After I took my handbrake handle off I noticed a few scratches on the polished top so I sandpapered it down to a brushed effect. I may be interested in what finishes they can do and how much.

Hi all. There's been a bit if a delay with getting the order away. Apologies but it was out of my hands. Now wishing I haven't stayed up until 3am yesterday morning dismantling, cleaning, cataloguing, photographing & packaging everything!! I won't be able to access the last package until Monday now but everything else is ready to go & can be sent near enough straight away. I'm chomping at the bit to get this moving & bolt the newly anodised parts back on. The Batmobile looks bad ATM (and not in the good way!) Will keep you all updated. :D

Work's been crazy so apologies about the lack of an update here until now. Rob called me yesterday afternoon to say he's happy with the package and everything was clear enough for him to go ahead with it and they got started there and then. In terms of prep work, to get a matt finish like Nicol's, all the parts need to be shot blasted. This will be done in one batch, so we'll just split the cost between us according what we've had done. Should still be nice and relatively cheap :) He reckons it will be ready to ship back to us early next week, so pretty much on schedule. Apologies to those who missed out this time around, I needed to set a date to get it moving. To everyone in on the deal, I'll PM you with final prices and to make arrangements for returning to you. :D

Dunk, that sounds harsh, I don't want my stuff 'shot blasted', some of it is brushed effect which should remain as OEM, ie heater knobs and fuel cap have a concentric machined finish etc.

As an example here's some Black brushed Aluminium, I would have thought shot blasting this would destroy the finish?

Hi Paul I hear you but these guys know what they're doing and the results on Nicol's are great. All we're getting is what he's got. It's a very fine blast to resurface the parts. They're not going to come back like the surface of the moon. Text me ASAP if you want me to get your stuff pulled out. Cheers D

I think I see the issue here; I wrote "shot blasted" & I meant 'bead blasted...' D'oh! It was late. I was tired. Whatever medium used, it'll be friable and gentle. To get a matt finish, the surfaces need to be flat. Paul, I've emailed you my number. Call/text whenever.

In order for the anodising to take, the old anodising/oxidising needs to be removed. This is all of 50 microns thick and any surface machining marks remain intact. There is no other way to do this tbh. I can assure you that the parts will come back looking lovely...

No worries Matt.

Spoke to Rob and it sounds like they're really taking care with everything and treating them in the packages that I sent them in so that nothing gets mixed up.

It's taking them a little longer than bashing everything together into one big batch but less hassle in the long-run and it's good to know they're doing a thorough job.

I'm expecting that we'll be as happy with the results as Nicol is with his.

:D
