Being as there so many people all with the fuel filler cap and surround removed from the car, I wondered if anyone knew where I could get a replacement gasket for the surround? My local Lotus dealer has sent me one but its not correct, has too many holes and will not fit, I can only assume an Elise or Europa varient that he assumed was the same.

Got mine from Vauxhall. From memory it was cheap.

Just use a hole punch and change the holes, it doesn't actually seal anything it just acts as a protective cushion for the surround.

As Techie says, cheap: Vauxhall Stealers: 7+VAT.

As Paul says, as long as the edge diameters are ok, you could safely just make the holes you need, where you need 'em. The gasket isn't doing much.

Nothing more yet. Rob said it would be the first half of this week and I'm awaiting a call from Debbie, the MA lady. Will call her tomorrow if I don't hear back by lunchtime & then update all involved.

Just off the phone to MA. They've had a problem with their surfacing place & are set back around a week in total (not just our parts!) It would have been better to let me know that before now. They estimate it'll be the beginning of next week now but I've pushed for something earlier if they can. Good grief!

Lol i did one better. Took the vx for a spin the other day and windows started to mist up so il try and switch the heater on to de mist no switches so il try the window winders. Then the first corner i come to i tried to put indicators on to turn. Then after sticking to back roads because i couldn't use my indicators i see my fuel getting low. Pull up at the fuel station to fill up and forgot ive tapped all my fuel hole up. Was all good fun tho and so looking forward to getting all my bits back.

LOL, my first ride was the worse. Heater was on full, windows up, hardtop on and I try an hour drive with a hangover. Not cool, never fun playing car tropicana with a hangover by yourself :-( was a good 20minutes into the hour drive before the heater raised the temp to the point it was unpleasant... But it then continued to climb for the next 40mins. God I was sweaty by the time I got home :D

Hi Gentlemen. Nope, sorry, no updates as yet. I too miss being able to put the windows down...change gear without discomfort...change the heater settings...put the dash plates back on...secure the mats...etc. Annoying, innit? I'll call them again tomorrow and see how things are going. This is taking about double as long I was originally quoted. Update to follow.

Yup, they sure are! Today's update however is that they'll be dispatched tomorrow and with me on Monday.

I've asked for an emailed copy of the invoice so I can let everyone know the final price.

Right guys. About to receive the invoice which needs paid before they will dispatch the finished parts. I'll cover that myself for now but stand by your beds for an update shortly on individual costs. :D
