...and with that then, I make it 55 individual components across 5 deliveries (assuming Rickwoo's got nothing to add yet, davemate's starter button can't be done and Chill isn't as ambitious as all that :D )..

I'll fire off an email to the company tonight and follow it up with a call to them tomorrow.

So, here's the deal. Mervin doesn't work there any more but I spoke to the General Manager, Rob Carlisle.

He's really not keen on getting work like this because they ordinarily only deal with mass processing of thousands of identical, brand new components & this is a bit of a pain in the @ss for them.

He has however agreed to do us a one-off job lot, so long as it's sent to him in one batch and the items aren't pitted and too worn. As a guide-price, he said he'd do a batch like Nicol's for £30+P&P+VAT. He'll give me a more firm price for a full order once I confirm final specifics. To make sure we were talking the same language, I nicked these photos :P and sent them to Rob. To get the best results, I'll be cleaning and preparing surfaces of anything I've got that looks too scratched.

The way I'd see this working is for everyone to send their items to me, I batch them up and send them in one delivery, get them back and distribute to their original owners. I'd need to mark the metal somewhere out of sight for identification. I don't think that arrangement will add much to the overall P&P costs but would get the delivery to them in the way they'd need it to go ahead with the job.

I've had a go at working costs out being fair to people based on how much they're geting done. I've therefore classed the items as a % of a batch. No science involved but going by size/number of components, I've gone with:
Filler Cap - 20%
Winders - 35%
Heater Controls - 15%
Dash Plaque - 3%
Handbrake Grip - 10%
Gearstick Knob (fnarr) - 7%
Gear gaiter surround - 10%

Let me know if that seems disproportionate to any of you.

Assuming it's £30+VAT per batch & guessing at £25 for P&P for a load of relatively light items, based on what you've all said you'd want done I get to:

If they charge us for 3 batches:
davemate - £11.30
Matt_S86 - £24.22
ChrisS1 - £23.58
haggi961 - £29.07
Way-aye-Pete - £6.46
5oc - £11.30
MrDCG - £29.09

If they charge us for 4 batches:
davemate - £14.15
Matt_S86 - £30.32
ChrisS1 - £29.51
haggi961 - £36.39
Way-aye-Pete - £8.09
5oc - £14.15
MrDCG - £36.39

If they charge us for 5 batches:
davemate - £17.17
Matt_S86 - £36.78
ChrisS1 - £35.80
haggi961 - £44.14
Way-aye-Pete - £9.81
5oc - £17.17
MrDCG - £44.14

The above are guides only and would obviously need P&P to and from me added into it.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Really depends on when people respond to the above. What would you be looking to include?

Petrol cap/surround
window winders
heater knobs
Maybe hand brake if it's not too scratched

Funny, I thought about those too...and the pedals! Sounded an awful lot like they want anything they're sent to be in good condition and milled from solid aluminium billet.

They bitched about cast stuff when I sent them my bits, but they all came up really well. Best to clean them as much as possible though, as grease etc will protect the alloy and not let the process complete properly. There were a couple of un-anodised bits in the countersinks of the petrol cap. They were unnoticeable when the bolts are in though.
