I think this is brilliant value for money (£/hp) and will be ordering mine soon :-)

well, on my engine I'm hoping it will take me from 169bhp to 180+bhp (due to being currently on a stnd map). So thats £70/bhp which is a bit pricey BUT driveability will improve and any future upgrades will be free in terms of remap costs. Most of us spend more than that on wheels/suspension/exhuasts etc, so (to me anyway) its a small price to pay for an engine that doesn't run lean, has no flat spots and maximises available power. AND less than half the price (not to mention reduced hassle) compared to an aftermarket ecu setup which is the option I was going to take before this happened.

I agree, it's cheap in comparison to most aftermarket setups. It's definitely cheap in comparison to the £700's worth of mapping I had done at TMS/Superchips to extract the 185bhp from my NA engine. But until you know what it actually delivers in the real world (and whether it delivers anything over A N Others remap), I can't see how you can claim it's brilliant value for money on a £/bhp basis.

Just read this whole thread and it seemed to start of simple but quickly went over my head (easily done) So just for my own peace of mind.....it seems you plug the supplied ecu in, some how enter a 'learning mode', drive the car, the ecu stores the values then you leave the learning mode ? and the car is set up? then if you bolt something new on, you go back into 'learning mode' and the ecu recalibrates itself? thats probably dipping below laymans but is that anywhere close?

Just updating progress. I have been playing with the ignition mapping on full throttle. Adding advance on my increased CR engine just started to induce knock retard so I actually retarded the ignition a little in places. I have sent 2 x 30 minute logs to Peter for him to check over and all is well. He has ritchened the warm up idle map a little. (Logging allows you to view all sensor outputs) I now need to run an ignition knock measurement. This works like the fuel learn, but detecting any real KR in the map. This information can then be applied to the map. This has all taken much longer than expected due to bad weather and having 2 kids nothing to do with issues with the software! The car is now very smooth to drive and better than the std map ever was, It also flys when pushing on. My aim was to have a modified car that had oem refinement and this has been easily archived. The only thing that isn't quite right is the idle with sport cams but by increasing RPM to 900 and advancing ignition it is almost there. As mentioned previously Peter will be looking at this over the summer so further improvements could be made. Throughout the process Peter has been very supportive providing both advice and tweaks to the base map provided.

Well, it's close but honestly if you don't understand the process involved, you'd better let somebody else (who knows) do the calibration for you.
You can blow up your engine if you dial the wrong buttons with this program...

Just wait a bit untill a few guys here bought and evaluated it.
In half a year, there will be a wealth of knowledge on it, and help available.

Done the KR learning and applied this to the map so almost all done now. I might have a play with the throttle response next. I have tried the sport setting but found it too aggressive so I might try a milder version.

Hows this going ????? I'm interested in this but I'm wondering how long it will take to get the new ecu to learn the set up and how many miles I'd need to do I live in central london so finding quiet empty roads is a off menu for me

Theirs no reason it could not be done on a rolling road like a normal mapping but you would need to be the one tuning as they will not be familiar with software.
