There are also roads outside central London, you know? :P You'll have a base map suitable for your car on the ECU already, that'll be more than good enough (and probably better than you've already got on the ECU) to get you outside London and onto some decent empty roads to go through the learning process and saving/loading the maps. Just make sure your laptop has a decent healthy battery in.

I am all done now. I have left the throttle map as std. This keeps the car nice and balanced so no turbo like kick mid corner. I will check for KR again in summer to make sure higher temps don't cause issues. For the learning sessions you don't need to have your laptop on as all the information is calculated and stored in the ECU. Just don't switch the ignition off before saving then applying the data as it will all be lost! I will update with any future changes I make with the software.

How do you save the data ? do I need to have a lap top ???

So what we are saying is that once Peter has sent back my ECU
it will have a base map that will work with the set up I plan to have ie
4.2 fanny mold 65mm TB and LSJ injectors

So I swap over the ECU one mods are done start the car he
ad out of the city and find some empty roads and then what ??

I only have a scanguage II would I need to get something else to access the ECU ??

Cheers

BVSD

Presumedly there is an OBD lead to a laptop which enables you via the spftware to access ECU and save it?

tbh it would be easy to arrange a couple of hours to run this and optimise the map to your car.

Yes, you'll need to save the logged data to a computer of some form (obviously a laptop is the only practical thing to use). It'll also need to be a Windows PC.

That jumper looked like it came with some software too is
that correct ?
I'd just need the jumper and a laptop with the software installed that came with the jumper ?

Peter will send you his software and I think you set up which COM port this interface is on. The software that comes with it you can shove in a drawer, (though you might need the driver off it). It will allow you to read/clear codes and probably see lambda voltages, coolant temp etc. But it'll be Peter's software you'll be using.
