go on you know you want too !

You won't need one with the new software. Just switch it off in the software. Undoubtedly just in time for the first O2 sim to be produced.

I'm guessing you would need to have a ECU which already works with car if immobiliser still works

I have Rik,

Do you still have your old ecu? Drop Peter a pm and see what he can do. If he can't just pick up a one on eBay with 2 chips and a transponder easy to fit

Yes, immobiliser still works.
If you have the famous 4 digit code for your current immobiliser, Peter can code that into your ebay ecu.

If you have original ecu contact Vauxhall and they will get the car pass for you with all codes needed for about £20-30

If getting the code from vaux fails, send Peter your original ecu also. He can read the code from it.

I see from the manual that you can log readings from a wideband Lambda. How does that work? Can you just use an off the shelf OEM wideband lambda from a new'ish VAG car and log from that, or do you need to mess about with traditional widebands with a separate controller (and maybe a simulated narrow band output in place of the standard Z22SE Lambda). Wonder if it's possible to use a wideband permanently, in place of the pre-cat OEM sensor.

hehe I asked him exactly the same thing, here's what he said:

I also have a wideband lambda sensor, does it connect straight to the ecu via the egr
valve wiring or still go through my wb control box and then into the egr?

The wideband does not connect directly to the ECU and the software does not
use the input from the wideband to control the engine directly. The wideband
can be connected through the analog output of the wideband controller. For
this the output of the wideband controller is connected to the disabled EGR
input. The output is visible in the logged data, on the ignition and knock
measurement tab and in the power measurement graph. This way the output can
be used to manually correct the fuel table.

imho there is a way to frig the lambda input to accept a wideband but its mega faff and wouldnt be 'that' accurate. But it would involve an external wideband kit that outputs a narrowband signal but with its switch over frigged to be at the point you want it. lots of frigging

I dont mind having it run from regular narrow sensor - I was more thinking that I could skip a bunch of wiring if it accepted wideband natively, but then I thought about it more and my dash gauge would have nothing to connect to in that case, so it's probably just as well ........
