Stupid question time, but would the ECU come with a basemap that will suit an engine with a standard sized pulley, standard compression ratio and non-VXR LET injectors, so no need to map it at all?

If he's got a map for those specific modifications, I'm sure he'd put it on for you and get you up and running. But you'd surely still want to go through the learning/tuning/optimisation process to make sure it's spot on for your car (and not somebody elses).

yes, it''s not like a shop where you take an expensive box off the shelf, and that's it.
Peter will guide you through the specs of your car, and provide you with a relativily safe basemap to start working from.
From there you start the learning proces to first optimise the afr.
Then you start working on ignition timing. He will work wtih you during the proces, if you feel unsure.
Keep in mind, that this is not his dayjob, so give him time to respond back.

The more people start using this, the more info and learning experience can be shared among the community.

if you just put back the ecu with Peters base map on it in your car when receiving it back, you may as well save your money and go to CS, as the result is nearly the same. It's the learning proces and optimisation where the magic is.

Basemaps are set filthy rich for a reason. So your engine does not melt.
CS wants you to come back after a basemap to optimise this. (via a crazy german doing 2 hours work with 8 hours dyno time)
Peter wants you to do that yourself. (via the intelligence of the software)

p.s. There are no stupid questions. This whole concept is brand new, so no worries.

An example of the part throttle optimisation is my car N/A not SC but the process is the same. After my remap at CS the car was much better at full throttle but I was having issues at part throttle. The engine would rattle / tapping noise in high gear low speed. Also the long term fuel trims were very high up to +25 in places. I have since learnt that the ECU struggles to estimate the AFR at such high fuel trims. The fuel trims are a bit of a bodge with 1 cell covering 20 in the main fuel table for low rpm and only 1 cell covering all fuel cells above 3600 rpm. I now have no low speed rattle-knock and my fuel trims are less than 5. This means the engine is getting the correct fuelling at all RPMs not just full throttle.

@Smiley; Did you do any optimising on your fuelmap after our last dyno session?

Email Peter

He will want to know all the engine details so he can put the best base map on to suit your mods. Unfortunately he will require payment as well!

Ok Peter has got back to me And asked me a few more questions I need a little bit more information for the base map; - What kind of exhaust are you planning on using with this? - Are you using standard fuel pressure? - OEM cams? - Pressure valve correction pod connected to boost? - Preferred rpm limiter value? Does anyone no how to measure a Tullett back box size the tail pipes measure 3" but I'm not sure What the whole back box is He also thinks that my z20let injectors will be to small for anything higher than 6k RPM what are your thoughts on this I'm only wanting around 250-260bhp stage 2

Measure the diameter of the U bend. Turdo injectors were fine on mine to 265bhp and 6750rpm (after I'd upgraded the fuel pump which initially limited me to 6250rpm).
