The more I read this the more I want it ! Sounds like this is the remap we have all been waiting for Just need to save some pennies and then I can release the 2.4 and 60 whatever size TB I have collecting dust in the garage and be comfortable knowing that when I SC (it will happen one day) all I'll need to do is down load the correct map for my set up !

As per the pm, chuck in more ign advance at idle, you can put lots in down there safely.

I have done this now. Back to closed loop with more advance I will see how it settles down. It already had more advance than standard but have added about 2.5 (not sure if the values are in degrees?) more this seems the best setting and I am getting better vacuum. If i keep adding advance idle starts to get worse until it becomes unstable.
Peter will be getting sport cams so I am sure he will be looking at this in more detail.

Hmm, annoying. Added some more fuel too? (Or backed it out)

I can't change fuel now as it is closed loop so if I add fuel the trim removes it? All I can do is get the fuelling so the trims tend to zero. I have got a lot of extra advance in now! The advance is 5.4 as std I have now got it at 15.4 so that's 10 degrees. If I go to 20+ the engine starts trying to stall. The idle is so much better than on the std map just not perfect but I do have cams balance delete and lightweight fly all of which are destabilising the idle. In open loop the idle is back to OEM but it causes issues with cold and hot start which I can't seem to solve. So currently the choice is SLIGHTLY lumpy idle or the starting idle issues! Thanks for your help as it has improved the idle further.

Schrick cams. These are better than many for idle quality due to the shorter duration. I think the piper and comp cams are worse. I have found that my idle at 912 rpm is best for minimum vibration and idle quality. Small changes make a noticeable difference in the VX as so much is transferred to the lightweight chassis.

I'd look at fixing cold and hot start if the idle controller isn't right in closed loop. One thing that drives me up the wall is a crap idle, there is no excuse for it (not your fault in this case )

I think I am the same sit at the traffic lights thinking that's not quite right. Think I am going to drive it for a while now and stop messing for a bit.

Oakmere, have you tried the power measurement device of your ECU ? What power and torque figures do you get ? Thanks

Yes you use this when trying to optimise power on fully throttle runs, adjusting ignition and fuel. I think it is a bit optimistic as my car is showing approx 209 bhp and 185 ft/lb. Nice if it is close though. I previously got 189 bhp and 169 ft/lb at CS with the std TB and turbo back box. Now have the 65mm TB and 2.5" tullet.

Me

Safe as long as you don't put any silly ignition or fuel values in. All OE safety functions still active!

Does the software allow you to view Air Fuel Ratio values in real time?

Think it will if you install a wide band lambda.

Only during logging irrc, and you may want to keep an eye on the road, instead of on the laptop.

Can't beat piloting a laptop while being driven about like a loon
Even more fun when the driver works out you can cope with the gentle assign about and then starts trying to make life hard by power sliding everywhere

2.5 release of obdtuner wires the wideband into the egr wiring, for logging purposes. Not sure if the signal can be split to the gauge also. Who´s gonna try first?
