You don't have to look at the laptop whilst logging you can do that on the sofa at home.

2.5 release of obdtuner wires the wideband into the egr wiring, for logging purposes.
Not sure if the signal can be split to the gauge also.

Who´s gonna try first?

Most Widebands have a dedicated linear output signal/wire for logging. This output (often programmable) is used in OBD, so you can keep the gauge readout too. ;-)

Amazing to see yet another arm of major VX220 conversions going on. This community is certainly above the average in terms of inventive and complex mods. Good luck to you. In fact, if you took the top 10 supercharger and top 10 TC modifiers from here and stuck us in the Lotus factory for a year, I think we could produce 2 brand new cars that were ultra capable :)/>

By "top 10 mod'ers" I mean people who make one-off substancial changes the functional ability of the car, not the group buy "stick on some carbon and a new expensive floorpan (read: diffuser) brigade" !

I do understand people waiting for a mod or upgrade to be proven and ready for a bolt on, but of course not everyone has fabrication facilities in their shed. I have a few prototype bits on mine, but not made by me.

Dude, that's low! The arches are there to allow for 285mm rear tyres, the wing is there to pin it down. Both are functional, the wing perhaps too functional as it has a 0 degree rake angle. And neither were group buys!

I agree with Nev. For such a limited set of cars, the amount of effort put into improvement and mods is huge. Custom webshops, oem parts replications or improvements, afordable versions of silly priced parts. Pretty impressive.

A couple more questions please. Read all 22 pages in detail... There seems to be a lot of people saying how you need to be careful and how the skill is with the person who maps it. Whilst I understand that to an extent how true is that with this solution? Given that a safe base map is supplied and from there on it is "self learning" to an extent how much skill is needed? I understand that the higher rpm learning will be done in closed loop so runs should be short and a decent cool down period after. Just to be certain as I couldn't see it stated as fact is the ignition timing also done in a "self learning" type manner? Is this literally a one man band? I know it's not nice but what if he gets pissed off, bored, tied up with other work/personal commitments. £750 is a lot for something that could possibly have zero support next week! Not like I can wonder down the road and knock on his door!

Same could happen to any company at the moment! Yes the mapping you do is straight forward. This doesn't mean you can't go sticking random numbers in the base map and blow your engine up. The ignition map is changed by looking at where the engine detects knock and pulls ignition. The advance is then reduced at that point. MOT tomorrow so will see if it passes on emissions?

No, overpressure and oil squirting out the rocker cover problem remains.

The only company in the entire UK who can help you map an SC is Courtenay.
THEY don´t even have the knowledge. They phone up some german tuner to get out of bed, start a remote control tool on their dyno software workstation, and tinker with the settings.
If the german guy runs under a train, there is NOBODY left.
All you can do then is drive over to Germany for another tooner. (on a trailer)
