is v2 being rolled out to everyone or do you need to pay for an upgrade, in short what's the difference? software upgrade from our end or return to Peter?I visited him 2 weeks back to get my V2 updated. (I had an early release)

To be clear, there are two aspects of the OBD software.
ECU firmware:
Has to be returned to Peter for an upgrade, the 'loose' description of these is V1 worked with NAs and was very much a development software, V2 works with boosted engines and is the first one that was widely offered to the UK. Any future upgrades will have a cost associated with them but it will be low (I think Peter said 150 Euros). This is akin to upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7; existing users are offered a lower price, however one does not buy Windows XP with the expectation they will get Windows 7 for free years later.
PC software:
The PC software is available to download for free from the OBD website, it is periodically updated with more or more accurate functionality from the PC processing side (such as power measurements, additional fuel injector specification and so on)

Sorry for the confusion.
I had an early release (beta) of V2, before it went public.
A few of us were used to test it, and get glitches fixed, if there were any.
That was in the time when you had to drive over to Peter to get flashed and had a learning session with him.
Once he was convinced this stuff was rock solid he started flashing ecu´s that were mailed to him, and started offering it outside The Netherlands. (early 2013)
I now have he same V2 on my ecu as everybody else is using.
Like fezzasus says; client side software is a different game, as Peter released various versions (all V2 complaint), with 2.7 being the latest.
2.7 being interesting for people that like to use the build in power measurement option, as it´s more accurate then previous versions.

I've got a couple of questions about OBD Tuner.
Firstly has anyone tried programming a new key to the car with their 4 digit security code after their ECU has been reprogrammed?
I've asked Peter and he isn't sure and I'm hoping one of you fellas have done it. I believe that the immobiliser has it's own ecu so theoretically it should be possible. Could this still be done using OPCOM?
Secondly, are all ELM327 cables created equal? There seem to be a couple of main types on ebay. One has a blue cable / box and the other has a black cable / box. Both are version 1.5 and cheap as chips. Is anyone using either of these successfully?
Finally, what method did you use to send you ECU over to Peter? Royal Mail? DHL?
I'll be removing my ECU in the next couple of days and I'm a bit apprehensive about that! Having looked at a couple of threads on here it doesn't look too tricky but I assume it's as simple as:
- disconnect battery
- disconnect cables to ecu
- remove security bolts
- drill out shear bolts
Done!
Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Thanks in advance!
Rob

- disconnect cables to ecu
- remove security bolts
Just the other way around.
The security bolt in the alloy u piece is blocking you from removing the plugs from the ecu.
