Doubt the issue was anything to do with the burst knock settings. As it was very low rpm where the issues were. Could be a tip in issue as the cam overlap at low rpm causes reversion of the exhaust gas into the inlet side.

Can someone point me in the direction of what exactly I need to buy, hardware wise, to get this up and running? ECU, what else? Which ECU, etc? ;)

Unless your going over stage 2 ( standard internals ) you will need a wideband, but not necessary for stage 2

Do you not have to send the ECU over to get plugged into somit over in Euro land? Quite like the idea of having a second ECU that I play around with and my current one that I can swap back if things to wrong/run out of time for somit

Lol, Yes a ECU would have to be sent to holland to be flashed with the software, if you want to keep original map and ecu you will have to buy a other ecu and send both of them to holland,

Both? Can I not just send my key, and the new ECU? Also, what car do I need to get it from, an Astra or similar?

You need the old ECU for the immobiliser code.

VAUXHALL VECTRA 2.2 PETROL Z22SE CODE DELPHI ECU SET - Part No. 12202143 DLKL

This should do the trick.

I have sent only my spare ECU to Peter but at the same time i emailed him the files of my "on car" ECU that i had copied with a specific OBD device.

Sounds like it's a fix in the calibration and doesn't need firmware/software changes.
