and then you have cams, heads, valves, cooling effectiveness, exhaust, different injectors and so on...

proof, again, that stage tuning is stupid and wrong unless you are a chooner selling something to idiots.

Or are those selections on the dutch SW.... in which case... erm

It has nothing to do with the software.

Never has.

well thats a relief :)

but still labling by stages of choon is retarded, especially when you say Stage 2, but I also have XYZ so its not comprable to another stage 2

I guess it works well within jap circles and VW circles as they all like to sheep it up, and to an extent in the ZLET (astra) crowd too.

You would rather see signatures listing all the mods?

When did that happen?

Last time I spoke to you, you were at stage 2.34!!!

Did you run redex through it?

provided you all had near identical performing intake manifolds , then the speed density could cope

Scrap that.

Engine volume, intake, manifold, head + valves, cams and exhausts ALL influence a Speed Density based system.

Some more that others, but that's why you need to do a fuel learn on each engine, as no engine is the same.

Peter has several good base maps that he tailors for your application and will get you going, but for max performance some more effort is required. First you must check if fuel trims and knock retard are within limits and build from there..

Edit; and agree with the "Stage" bollocks. It was good for the base Courtenay SC-1 and SC-2 (chargecooled) difference, but beyond that simply list your mods.

Stage quoting is fine as long as the reader had the intelligence to realise what it really means, IE a rough idea of what's been done and a rough idea of a BHP range. Like it or lump it people will always quote stages as it's a fcuk load easier and quicker than listing all their mods. As an example mine has: Walbro 255 pump VXR injectors Pipercross RS500 filter 68mm LSJ throttle body m62 supercharger with 3.35" pulley Front mounted Pro Alloy Charge Cooler Chris Tullett tubular exhaust manifold Custom 2.5" downpipe with no pre-cat and 200 cell main cat 2.5" "U-bend" De-restricted tubby backbox 266 degree piper cams EGR system deleted LSJ Tmap sensor OBD Tuner software Runs OEM fuel pressure Uses OEM compression ratio Has a 6,800rpm limit ...or, I could say stage 2.5 and peoples assumption will be in the right ball park

Stages should be about power not individual mods.. Stage 1 - 200 - 220 bhp Stage 2 - 220 - 260 bhp Stage 3 - 260 - 300 bhp Stage 4 - 300 - 360 bhp

fcuk you bitches, I just went up to stage 3

I just went up to stage 4, according to one particular dyno run on one particular dyno on one particular day. So double fcuk you. :D

Also shows why stages based on arbitrary power numbers are even more stupid than basing it on hardware.
