I'm afraid so.
How are you running the PCV just trying to get more information about trying to reduce this oil which everyone is suffering from at different rates it appears

My Z22SE was consuming quite some oil before i blew up the head gasket, as swapped for the B207.

The B207 has now done about 5000km with about 5 trackday. I only had to top it up a little 2 weeks ago.

Very happy with that. Also no i have heared of no oil problems from the lsj or the Z20NET when it comes to oil.

My pcv is open. Cam cover outlet goes to catchtank (empty last item i checked) and then to inlet pipe.

Oil smear on linlet pipe is at a minimum.

No changes on that for 2015 for me.

This sounds like best option all round keeping any oil which is being pulled out of engine from blocking up the inlet, SC and laminovas 👍

if anyone wants a used good condition ls4 throttle bodies i can get them for £74 posted   chinky chinky

yes please Joe I have notice an increase in oil consumption/ loss sine fitting the harrop, must admit, I vent my breather overboard though stops the smell.

On occasions I've noticed that the dipstick has lifted slightly after running on high revving type tracks. Also on checking the oil the oil level can be up to 150mm over Max, I know this is wrong though. It might seem daft but has anyone thought about putting a breather filter on the dipstick tube just to see if it makes a difference?

I thought about putting a seperate breather somewhere at bottom of engine At the time though it was thought that you need a vacuume for the PCV works @fezzaus does oil expand much ??

It's hard for me as there's only really me and nick with harrops and z22se engines so it's going to behave different then there saab engines. I know mine is running sweet with no power loss ect and also the compression in all my pistions is the same so it's not loss through there. My PCV is the answer and I think maybe unblocking might be the thing to do and see how it gets on.

If someone could answer me this, I had the phonlic spacer blocking the hole in the head (how CS likes it for mapping) as there's no channel cut in the spacer and I noticed oil near the inlet after a track day
Posted Image
It looks like there's oil near where the injector goes in but it was bone dry done the hole and instead just oil moving to a lower point. I then stripped it down and found a little oil vapour in my inlet manifold which then I had to strip down and clean. I then sealed up this hole in the head as the phonlic spacer wasn't enough to stop the oil from pushing past it
Posted Image
Since sealing this ive had no oil getting into the inlet manifold as ive stripped it down and had a look but now have more oil coming out the breather as its venting into the atmosphere and is cable tied going down to my subframe which has fresh oil over it.

1.So do I risk it and open the pcv up?
2.Leave blocked and fit a catch tank?
3. Unblock pcv and fit catch tank?

there was a post by Vocky about making the breather hole on the cam cover larger, wonder if that might help

You aren't getting anything in the inlet because it gets there from the pipe you have vented to atmosphere

The pipe is coming from the rocker cover so how does this go to the inlet?

The same waY as air flows from inlet Pcv does 2 things Allows fresh air in and gets rid of bad gasses

Lee is Saab ain't he, and yeah I forgot about Chris. Not sure about the rest. Plus what I was meaning as well is z22se and dutch software.

Having the pipe from the cam cover open is a bad idea as it sucks under low rpm allowing fresh air into the engine which would be unfiltered and could pull debris in , @ sutil this is why it was decided a bad idea to vent from dipstick

Just reading through this it sounds like people are suffering from high crank case pressures.  It sounds like it could be either blow by from worn piston rings or from an enthusiastic overbore.  I'm not sure what clearance the wiseco pistons specify but could it be too great?

Mine was standard bore and checked when vocky built engine ( new engine )

Think it's also worth mentioning since putting my PCV back on to inlet my oil usage is less Than what it was when open to atmosphere Which o believe was caused by a build up if crank pressure rather than relieving it before it builds up to these levels
