Fuel then ignition

That's where you start, as there is the most difference between builds. Mixture should be safe (thermally) for your engine's load, but you should always keep an eye (and ear) out for knock, as that can kill your engine fast.

So start with a safe basic timing map, learn fuel low loads, learn fuel high loads and then start optimising ignition => re-check fuelling => ignition again.

Short question: Does OBD-Tuner still work OK when I upgrade my laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10?

Maybe a no-brainer but just want to make sure.

Did the first run today with the 2.2 turbo. When cold, in neutral, it sometimes want to stall when I rev the throttle and let go.. Ideas? Selected "liniar" trottlebody for that matter. This issue seems solved when warmed up.

How is your AFR while coasting? Mine ran 22.6:1 which is max lean. I know it should be lean due fuel cutoff, but still...

Thanx guys.

I'm Not a turbo How are you regulating the fuel and what happens to boost pressure when you cost ??

What do you mean by fuel regulating?

I run stock fuelpressure with VXR 470cc's and vacuum connected to intake manifold.

Below  a shot of mappressure vs. rpm

Posted Image

So drops to 20 kPa. Now I pressume 100kpa = 1 bar = sealevel pressure hence "0" bar. So 20kpa is actually -80 kpa = -0.8 bar which is good.

So 22 AFR when coasting is OK. Now the stall issue when cold...

By regulating the fuel I meant are you using boost ? Which it looks like you are

Ahh..ok. Yes I did a short run in that screenshot-log. 0.5 bar of boost.

I just saw my Map Delta #'s. Looks like my Coasting <33C seems high? 27,5 ??

The example in the instructionbook says 14.9, not sure where that came from.

A higher value means the time the enrichment last is very short (the higher, the faster back to "0")

I would make those two tau values 14.9 indeed, like in most of the SC mappings, and see what that brings. X-tau settings are a bit trial an error... :-/

Recieved some log-files from Smiley tonight. Seems like the Harrop and DaveyC maps have simular Time=1/vaue #'s.  So 3 people having some idle/cold problems with this one. Going to put the M62 values into my map tomorrow and see if this helps.

Is there any chance you can explain what the changes in the various transient maps made to your car?

That way we get a better impression of what these values do, versus "chuck this in, and life is good".

(maybe better in the obdtuner topic,  instead of Dave´s thread.)

starting with throttle speed

quite straight forward.

setting up to 5000RPM

stationary and drive  (car parked and  car moving )

this is the speed the tb body reacts to your foot, this is probably quite unique to each driver i combined this with the throttle tab here when trying to tune the LS4

Map delta is not quite as straight forward

Part 1

and what i think might not be correct exactly but its what i found when changing the figures

i think this is down to the amount of fuel which is added for when the map pressure isnt what is expected so lets hope most of that table is not used unless there is a issue somewhere

as you can see from my table when my map pressure is 100% ok (0% difference) and adding 0.8% of fuel i think this should be lower.

now i do wonder if this is to do with what is happening with atmospheric conditions  which could change the map pressure or a boost leak or exhaust restriction  /issue

part 2

throttle fly position up to 50% self explained

correction i think is down to balancing the fuel with the change in the throttle

part 3

is down to the amount of time the change is applied

throttle valve delta,

this is what i think i need to do a lot more work on but think these values are so high because of the LS4 throttle bodie  which is now not supported without the reflash on the ecu but you will have to speak more to peter about this

i think the worry here was the control over the throttle body and these setting are this high incase the car runs lean.
