Just got an e-mail back basically no form of discount as it wouldn't be fair on people who have paid the full amount already Even if 10 people wanted it

Unfair on him you mean?

Surely it's in his interest to get a job load of users in one hit in the UK.

I'm going to wait until I've done my mods next year. Don't fancy using a base map for a NA To map a SC So better to wait unless someone can tell why it would be ok

Hmm. Proper software for our ECU that offers full tuning parameters, I take it the developer had the DAMOS file? No Damos file. He has written new software for the ECU. So far more comprehensive than trying to re-calibrate the existing software.

But we are in a different situation in that we have another option available locally, and thus are in a more competitive market. ;-)

So this is 100% spot on, I will not be a Guinea Pig testing it out and it will make my car 100% mappable and open.

Do I get some form of guarantee?

Possibly also suffering with the continental premium for Speester/VX related things as well.

Are we talking about the Klassen/Courtenay solution?

To be honest, if there's no discount then I'd have trouble getting it passed her indoors. Would this run much better than a cms map? Is it better for part throttle pootlin about, as Courtenay map with WOT? Plus the advantage of modding the map as and when you change any bits?

What do you expect to be guaranteed? As said it wil be a bun fight between who ever wrote the software and whoever did the calibration work.... And the add in the engine builder and driver to the mix, yes it's messy.

Courtenay map part throttle as well. Mine spent many hours on the dyno with Klassen tweaking it in the mid-range and on partial throttle. It's the WOT mapping that pisses me off. But, it's certainly not as granular as this solution.

That I can get my ECU flashed with the new software and I can get somebody to optimise it and it will work. Plus it won't blow my bloody car up.

Hmm oh well I'm out then. Nice of him to think of his previous customers but strange way to do business. Is this his hobby then as opposed to running as a full blown business?

Expensive? That all depends. For me it never was an option to to Klaassen or Courtenay for mapping and driving with a base map with known issues didn't sound that good either. And rolling road time is money too, besides what it costs to go there in the first place. When I started tinkering with the engine I was a complete beginner (still am compared to a lot of people on this forum), but the one thing I did know is that OBD Tuner would give me a lot of flexibility and above all I wouldn't have to depend on any tuners and could do everything in my own garage.

I started out with the 2.4 intake and later added LSJ injectors and after that went SC. All supported by the firmware. The upgrade to SC was 75 euro, which I find very decent. Important for me too is that everything just worked. The software is stable, the documentation is there, you have access to all kind of engine sensors and can monitor them and even for me without any experience it enabled me to go through several stages of tune without any issues. So very happy user.

Not a strange way to do business at all. He knows that people are keen to buy his solution so why would he discount it? There's only small finite amount of VX's and Speedsters left and once the people who want it have it, then there will be zero demand for his product.
