One other thing I should mention peak power might come long before peak ignition But you need to think about what is happening when intake temps are high and knock is detected as you don't want the ignition to pull so much that it pulls it to far

Also what I have found the closer to peak ignition you get the cooler the iat seem to be do always keep a eye on intake temps also

Cheers smiley I'll have a look at a tablet then, looks more practical than a laptop. Chill what sort of inlet Temps would you consider high? I don't know at what temperatures you begin to lose power. I have a pa cc rad and duel pass mod so I'm hoping for decent inlets temps

phippsy - I'm just about on the same step as you. Completed my SC just before summer but as time is really limited I don't get to play that much.

I'll be looking a lot here to see what you come up with but of course also try to bring my own findings whenever I can.

First, I have bought an ASUS 10.1" tablet with detachable keyboard. It's running win10. No problems with OBDTuner at first. Then I got an OS upgrade and it didn't work but fixed that with a minor .net upgrade. Basically the tablet tells you what to do to make it work.

It is really easy to use OBDTuner with the laptop like keyboard with the bonus of an extra full size USB port so you can charge while logging and you don't have to bother with USB adapters.

I'm now looking at a neat way to make a fixed mount instead of putting it into the side pocket. I've bought a RAM mount which feels really good. The up side is that with this mount I can rotate and angle the tablet freely. The down side is that it might look a bit too "industrial" in some peoples eyes :) Once the tablet is fitted the mount is not visible so I don't think it'll bother me that much.

I only have two weeks left on my road tax before I put the car away in the garage until next year so I'm probably not going to learn a great deal this year. Car drives well on the base map that peter installed onto my ecu so I'm looking forward to seeing any changes once I do the fuel learn. Raining here today but tomorrow looks promising.

I like the sound of your tablet, do you know specifically which model it is as there seems to be quite a few when I was searching. I have seen those RAM mounts, they look good quality and I like the idea of a removable mount. I'm not looking for a permanent mount, id like something I can easily remove.

I'm probably not the first to say it on here, but I think peter might be a genius :)

Couldn't get to an international site but this is it - http://www.asus.com/...sformer-T100HA/

Mine is called T100HA-FU030T and has the 128GB hard drive. Absolutely hassle free when it comes to OBDTuner (for me at least).

There is actually two USB ports when using it in tablet mode. One normal micro and one USB type C. I have only used it with the keyboard attached and then you have another USB port, this one beeing the large old one.

Also tried the OBDDash Smiely recomended.

Unfortunately OBDDash wanted a bluetooth dongle and I want to use my USB dongle. So started looking in the garage and found five BT dongles   Worked like a charm as well. In the Speedster that is, no go in the Saab 9-5 I tried :(

I've been in the car trying the RAM mount out a bit but have not yet started to drill in the interior...

My idea is to mount some sort of aluminium sheet to the RAM mount and then use velcro for the tablet. Think that will work fine. That way I can also not only rotate the tablet but also move it around within the rotation (did that make any sense?)

The mount will be permantent in the car but just a little piece of it, the "base ball". The rest will be easy to remove so I'll have to find a good place for the "base ball".

The tablet will also act as navigator and music player for my bluetooth stereo :)

Have anyone integrated a touchscreen in the dash yet?

Been looking for pictures of such a mod but have not been able to find one.

Wow, he went all in with that. Clever ideas though even if it was a bit much for my taste.

Playing with the thought of a oneinall stereo/obd-app/nav screen built in the dash.

I have done a few in the past when i was into car stereos and the modding involved in that.

A question for the wise as i think i will be going down this route in the new year, having bought my harrop done i am not sure of all the mods that i will be required to let Peter know for the base map, injectors, throttle body, cams etc

If i send Peter my current CS mapped ecu can he pull that map and install as the base map with his software on a spare ecu?

Who did the conversion? Could probably answer most of that for you assuming it's a stage 2 if we knew who carried out the conversion.

Thanks for the help.

Ok, Harrop will likely have a lot more variety that a simpler stage 2. What bits haven't you got an answer for and perhaps someone can talk you through how to work it out.

Well for example i can see on receipts, comp cams (no idea which ones), larger throttle body (no idea which one), something about inlet (no idea what), no mention of injectors, engine comp ratio etc etc you get the picture and there is no point guessing. I will message Peter, seems the simplest way if he can pull the current map and install on another ecu :)

Thanks guys

The current map is a bodged version of what has been out there for years.

I doubt Peter can extract hardware info from that.

Could you not contact Courtenay asking them for a complete spec list?
