Tell me to butt out, if you want. But how come you are T-total when Mrs Goose is about? I can understand how a veggie can persuade a meat eater to change their ways, but to stop a drinker beats any logic I have.

I was borderline alcoholic when I met her. We both gave up about 7 years ago. I actually dont like booze anymore but sometimes I reaaaalllly fancy a beer. Not to get pissed just to have a beer. I have such a weak will. Its kinda a joke as I really dont booze at all now. Just she has been away for a month and I drank loads when she was away.....

I cut back enormously a few years back (not long after I met Mel) as the levels I had sustained up to, and throughout Uni, were stupid. I have only recently learnt when to stop and actually managed a Works Xmas do and not spend the following day hugging the toilet.
Though I must say your situation is a bit like me and smoking, whereby I have to resample the habit every now and again (once or twice a year) to help keep me sane and on the straight and narrow.

That took me several attempts, several months of lies and deceipt but the curse was slowly lifted when I started to work with my old man.... Basically I was under observations 24hrs a day, so the opportunity never arose.
I am bloody glad I quit though, but it is feckin hard. The only advice I can give is to avoid the 'supplements' and acknowledge that 'accidental fag' is just that and not fall off the wagon. I do now religiously have a Christmas cig and that helps keep me in check for most of the year.

off topic, does no one make a cover you can put on straight after use, as clearly the boot lid and exhaust temps would melt any cover in milli seconds, just wondered if one had been designed yet to not cover the exhaust and also could let heat escape from above the engine?
I've got a coverzone cover and though I wouldn't put it on immediately after pulling up I do put it on fairly shortly afterwards. Just make sure I don't hoon it on the last bit of the drive, and tehn by the time I've sorted stuff out and retrieved the cover the boot is cold enough to put on. If the exhausts are still hot I just make sure the cover is above them then pull it down later.

Bingo, you got it in one.
VX exhaust tips only take about 5-10mins to cool enough, if you allow the engine to cool down on the last 5-10mins of a drive.
