Just managed to get a late entry for Cadwell this Sunday (30th) so will be racing in CSCC Modern Classics series. Same format as TDT I believe, 30 mins qualifying and 40 mins race. Just myself, Jez from BoT and Chris (Sutol) will be going so if anyone wants to come and watch it would be good to see you.

Mark just said; 2nd in class, 11th in race! Your race vs. podium ratio must be quite impressive by now! Well done matey!

Thanks all. All went well, was sitting second in class for all of the race. Towards the end of the rcae I was catching the E36 M3 in first place whilst having a bit of a scrap with some sort of kit car that I thought was third in class. Turned out he wasnt in my class but the class above and whilst trying to keep him at bay I spun about 4 laps from the end which scuppered any hopes of first. Car went well, got a noisy output shaft bearing on the gearbox which got worse and worse throughout the race so that will have to be done before Brands GP double header on 27/28 July. Thanks to Winstar for turning up and to Chris (Sutol) for his help in the absence of Ben from BoT. It was good to get round Cadwell in one piece after last times mishap!!!

That race series (Modern Classics) is hard on the driver and hard on the car especially when baking hot. At the compulsory pit stop which was basically an in and out of the car as mark was a single driver, he didn't have time for a drink and looked totally knackered. Cadwell is a physically and mentally hard circuit at the best of times. Mark was also up against cars that were far more powerful than his, and if it wasn't for the spin would have defo had a chance at top spot. FYI Lee, Jez did all the oil checks but I couldn't help a crafty peek when he was doing it. Now looking forward to brands at the end of July which will be a much fairer race.

No non manufacturer aero. You can run any aero fitted to a factory model even if its not fitted to your particular derivative. I was also supposed to run with standard headelights but ignored that and, luckily, so did they!!

TBH I think the only place at Cadwell it might affect is the first corner which is flat out in 4th. It was squirmy but what with the heat it was hard to tell
