When I saw the title I was geared up to hurl some abuse but strangely it looks good. Top job!

I'm not as chavvy as the topic titel may think. The only reason i like this is thats it's reversable and i can integrate and blend it in nicely

Not sure if UK euro regulation is exact same as in NL, but over here: - DRL (Daytime Running Lights) are allowed oem and after market. - DRL's may not run together with any of the other lights at the same time. (ie switch off) - If they do run together, the DRL's have to tone down to 30% of original capacity to be legal. Still working on all the regulation stuff, so i could be off somewhere.

Those last two should be fairly simple to achieve with a bit of extra wiring, a relay and some resistors. I've bought a pair of rings to have a play with as well, they do look pretty cool after all!

Good luck Rusty. I was even thinking of after spraying the rings black to blend in, to spray some lense tinting over the leds themselves, so they also blend into the black better. I think you would have to look twice to see the modification after that. Someone from the speedsterforum also mentioned a little electronics box to take care of the 30% routine, but if you could add some info and the wiring, i would definitly be interested thumbsup When activating main beam , i noticed the small side lights were also activated, so i need the 30% solution, as i cannot shut down the led rings when the main beam is active.

If you sprayed them all black (I'd imagine Matt or satin being the best for turbo lights) then just ran them over a fine grade sand paper to take the paint off the front of the LED's I'd imagine that would work, that's at least what I'm going to try when I get mine. I could easily draw up the wiring and work out what resistors would be required, but until I have mine I won't know what voltage is need to achieve approximately 30% output, so unless you have capabilities (variable 12v DC power supply) then it'll have to wait 3-10 working days for my rings to be delivered. Edit: Currenlty what are they being powered off? Sidelights?

I like them! May I ask how you have them wired?

The ledring comes with a + and - wire.
Turn your lamp upside down, and you see the rubber gromet with access to the small sidelight.
Pull it off, and you should see this:
Posted Image
Just pull off the black connectors (remember where each one was, for reverse references)
One of the 2 wires is yellow after a few centimeters. This is your +
The other one is full black and your -
Just create 2 small flat pins on your ledring wiring, and they slide right in.
With some fiddeling, you should be able to keep all wiring inside the headlight casing.
Reverse to original with 2 minutes work.

To connect the ledring to the casing, i would suggest to use double sided tape.
(not sure how long that will last, but glueing was not on my favorite list, due to damage to the casing)

Downside is that when activating main beam, the sidelight is also activated (thus the ledring)
Still working on regulation, on how to use it properly/legal.

I hope you used the ones from my earlier ebay link, as searching for angel eyes you get various versions.
I have another 80mm ring, but as it's slightly wider (8 versus 7 mm), it does not line up as good as the one in my pictures.

Wouldn't the simplest option be to use a DRL control module? It would do all the above and aren't a lot of money, 15 to 20 English quids seems to be the going rate.

I didn't, I didn't see the link, I just ordered a generic set only cost £6.35 or something delivered, so I wont complain if they don't fit nicely!

Well if they exist thats the easiest option! Tbh when I fit some I will just power them off the sidelights, I can't really see the harm in having a bit more light at the front of the car, and I seriously doubt you'll get pulled over for it (in the UK atleast).
