Anyone care to enlighten me with what the fcuk HTC Sync Manager is and why the fcuk it won't let me connect my phone to my computer without using this software? I've been happily using my phone as a mass storage device, transferring files easily when ever I want and now I can't seem to do this anymore. Is this HTC's effort at limiting what people can do with their phones like Apple do? I don't need software to move files - I'm not a moron. Anyone?

Have you done a Android update recently? I think ICS Jelly Bean killed regular native Android mass storage.

Yes, sometime in the last month or so, this is the first time I've connected my phone since then. You're right, it must be something to do with the latest version of ICS. Sigh.

Just connected my One X up to my PC and whilst it does have HTC Sync installed on it, I can access the phone as a regular mass storage device through Explorer etc, without having to twat about with the HTC software. Had to try it as I only ever use AirDroid if I need to connect the two up, usually.

My PC is dead so I'm on a mac instead. I couldn't seem to circumnavigate the software without digging around and I'm certainly not in the mood to fcuk around with it now. Thanks for the tip - I'll check it tomorrow thumbsup

My PC doesn't have any HTC software on it and i've just connected my One X running JB without an issue. Can't see any change from ICS
