Ok here goes, I was planning on gathering all the items required to carry out a SC conversion next winter, Which would allow to purchase parts without the other half (wife ) not nojng the real cost of me doing the conversion, I managed to purchase a super charger kit from Ross A bit earlier than expected but there you go the right kit at the right price, first major purchase made and the wife just said I was stupid. ( I agreed) The wife will probably be the biggest factor or problem in this small project.

After a bit of investigation I did not locate where the coolant was coming directly from, With help from George we discovers coolant under the rad in the channel running towards front of car, I think worst scenario rad gone

Could this be a opportunity not to be missed, My Mrs is really looking forward to highland hoon So, Looks like a new rad is needed before then I also have Cadwell booked,MOT due and was also planning on getting the engine rebuilt Unless someone has a proven low mileage engine available

I've managed to convince the wife to do the hole project before the highland hoon including SC As the front clam has to come of to change rad anyway I could fit charge cooler etc at the same time, My wife still has no clue of the costs Here is my plan so far, The rad leak is minimal Do Cadwell MOT Engine rebuild or new engine SC conversion. With a lot of help from George and members on here Peaks meet A other track day Highland hoon

I bought my Silver VX in April last year at a ridiculous low price, it is a Catergory car but I don't care, the damage was minor and documented. after a summer of meets I was hooked by the people and the car. My first track day in the VX at blyton helped to make my mind up that I wanted a more track day focused car which I could still enjoy meets. Whilst at blyton the car went through around 1-2 litres of oil so this problem needs to be fixed first.

Going to take a few pics of the car now. and really other than tires and brake pads how I bought the car. The only major difference in the car compared to the way I bought it is the major Rash on the front from nelly and mani Thanks for that

Good luck with the conversion Chill. Is the leak a bad one or are you at least able to use the car at the moment?

I did blyton with it and using it when ever I can,
So very minor water levels are not dropping much
Infact if I ha dent seen a bit of coolant in the wing you wouldent of noticed from levels in header tank

Good luck with the conversion, wish I'd done mine from scratch. If your rebuilding the engine then speak to vocky for sure! He has a price to take the engine out, rebuild, and fit again. It's not ££££ either. :) IMO if I was taking my engine apart I'd at least get all the chains done and possibly stretch to forged rods so your safe for 280bhp. Even go the whole hog and get a fully forged engine ;) Good luck.

You should decide what bhp you want from your car before spending any money on the engine, if you are happy with 250bhp then try and get a complete low mileage z22se engine and fit that. But you will need to replace both chain kits on any engine you use, unless they have been very recently changed (they are all due for replacement due to being at least ten years old), look out for the later spec z20net chain tensioner with the bulge.
