Ain't it just! When Nipper was on the dyno last, the operator had been in the cabin quietly for about 30 mins busy working away. He then turned to me and said, "do you realise your car does 160 MPH in 4th gear?". I smirked sheepishly as I realise that I could really do with a lower ratio boxwill try that so long as I get a bit of private road, 3rd at max rpm is fast

Wonder if 3rd gear runs help to Smoothen the graph
It should, you're aiming for smooth acceleration at WOT, best way to do that is gear highly. Obviously above 3rd gear you start having massive speeds to contend with, and 5th you'll reach Vmax before topping the revs.

best track day ive ever been on by quite a margin thanks to the people and some good weather
Anyway back on to the car
WOW POWER
all this concentration on power and flattened dips etc really has made me forget how much fun i should of been happening on track.
Lets start off with a bit of logging which i managed to get a session on track and it was quite warm
IAT
Not to bad at all dont think not perfect but was expecting worse,
it quickly became clear all this concentration on power has made me forget that you really need to look at handling also
BUT THE CAR WAS MEGA FUN
and it ran faultlessly all day which i spent as many laps as possible on track
Its going to take a lot more time behind the wheel to make the most out of the car but theres certainly potential which will be unleashed as time goes on
I really wished i had the video working on the first session of the day the track was damp and the car was lose and skidding and wheel spinning everywhere

Next im going to get on to the LS4
it worked fine but its not ready for the track it made the car very unstable on and off throttle and especially mid range throttle
so im hoping this can be very much improved but time will tell on this one

That's what some US LSJ guys also thought of it and went back to 68mm version. Better driveability... The LS4 TB definately needs some tweaking on our cars.
(still need to fit mine with the LSJ ecu)

I was speaking with Luke and he said his was snappy even with the 68mm throttle body The map has been smoothed and is still snappy So maybe something to do with the boost dump valve, but will make changes to try and get this better at the next track day as is was more obvious thereChill As I said you will really feel the sudden jump up in the throttle map. If you smooth the map out it will feel much more progressive. I have left a ramp up in the middle of the throttle range as it feels more responsive on my N/A, but you will want yours as smooth as possible. Also a ramp up at small throttle opening will be much more obvious than large. 10% to 30% will be felt much more than 80% to 100%.

There are 32 cells for TB positioning which is not enough for the amount of travel in the butterfly I've made mine as smooth as possible once the idle is correct ( or close ) but I'm thinking I wonder if more cells could be made available Who knows this is something which is not quite right But I must say as the Anglesey day went on I learnt to live with it more Time will tell if I put the 68mm back onIs there a progressive twin throttle available from GM that can be made to work? I wonder if the LS4 throttle is a bit too big to give adequate control on a 2.2.
