Wishbones, bushes, ball joints, drop links, track rods ends and a steering rack refurb were the original plan. New hubs and a new quick rack weren't, but they somehow happened!

It's a bit late, the cars almost finished (yes I'm aware that statement will never be true)

Do you not really need discs and bells for track work?   I found the brakes wanting tbh, not very confidence inspiring....

Eh? You're not doing it right.

Decent pads, fluid and braided lines. Abs disconnected after 20 or so laps. Maybe I'm used to better brakes and expect too much? Tbh I was thinking discs/bells and ducting for the front and rear in the hope I could get them somewhere near my previous track cars.

Surely there is a definitive setup? Previous searches are hit and miss tbh. Ice mode ain't great on track lol hence the disconnected abs

which pads did you try

brake ducts certainly help i ran mine from the fog light holes

brakes are a very personal thing but personally im on standard brake callipers and find the limiting factor is tires

Standard brakes with track focused pads and fluid are more than enough IMO. I have a switch to disable the ABS as I find it lethal. Have you managed to lock up the wheels?

I disagree. For a very long time I had standard calipers, RS14's, braided hoses, ABS off, AP 295's & a good brake fluid. It was fantastic on track, I openly said its all any avid trackers would ever need. However, upgrading to 4 pots on the front, bigger standard steel discs & better pads all around, I've found a major improvement. So far I've not had any fade, the initial bite is far better at wiping speed. The pedal feel is so much better, no brake squeal after long periods, no drama & consistency which allows you to control the brakes at the limit of adhesion. The car remains balanced at all times under hard braking with no hint of lock ups. That said, standard calipers with upgraded pads, hoses & fluid is not to be sniffed at! I'd go down that route first, I'm sure you'll think that's more than enough (just don't drive a 4pot braked car) I've not driven Lee's car (hint, hint!) but GeorgeBC has said it's immense in the brakes department. His brake setup is pretty much as good as you can get.

Today has caused more questions than answers

😂🤔🙈

The car is back on all 4 wheels 🤘🏻

Ride heights have caused me a few issues which will need more time to achieve the desired

There's been quite a few messages to MBR today

Because the car has the bump steer kit it has rediculas tow in

Any way it's on all 4s so it's getting there slowly

Yep I can lock up the fronts wheels But I don't run any of the really grippy tyres just the RSRs

Yup. But there is more to it than that.
