You're either a braver man than me, or your suspension is much softer than mine. I've killed a magnetically mounted TomTom and broke the screen of a magnetically mounted phone in the VX on less than smooth roads.

oooh i hope not, i will put a tether on it aswell i think, the magnets are very strong and have two on, and a spare one which i might end up using,

i cant see it falling of as the magnets are gripping it very very well so much so it is quite difficult to remove, i did find the adhesive pads are not so good so ive modded them and they will never come of again

the micro keyborad works a treat and well worth the less than £10 it cost at makes using the tablet a lot easier

It's all in mapping...

I have the same Stage2 ZZP LSJ cams with a different ecu in my engine that idles almost normal @875rpm. (just a small hunting due to the slow closed loop feedback)

And that on a smaller 2.0 engine, in which they should act more agressive than with 2.2l displacement to feed.

Can you send me a picture of the settings at idle So I can give them a try You have my email

ive not messed with the idling setting, as its never really gave me any issues other than the sound of it which i quite like  :borg:

ive just looked at my setting and think my ignition is quite low at idle,

I'm on the LSJ ecu and that has a totally different idle strategy...

But my base idle advance around 800-1000rpm is 10 degrees. (Warm idle target is 880rpm..)

(I'm still struggling a bit with OBD's hard injector ms values in the base fuelling maps, as that implies it's impossible to exchange fuelling maps with someone on different injectors... I expected something like a Volumetric Efficiency table that works together with the injector parameters to calculate the final ms injection duration... Have to ask Peter sometime why he did it so, )

The fuel table is changed depending on the injector so a Volumetric Efficiency table would make more sense for sharing and comparing different setups. Chill I run 14.7 ignition advance flat across. Add ignition till you find the most stable idle. I found once I went above 16 degrees the engine would start to stumble so you just need to find the sweet spot for your cams. Warning Ignition at this level puts hydrocarbons to high for an MOT pass. I have a can of ITG filter oil rolling around in my boot for you as well.

For comparison: mine runs 5deg all over the line... No speciall cams though. Must be corrected a bit. Asked Peter for a stock 2.2 map to sort these basics out.

Stock map is available from the obd tuner forum. High lift cams run smoother with more ignition advance. The key issue is with the closed loop fueling but this can not be adjusted in version 2. This is why Exmanter will have better idle because he has greater access to the mapping via the HP tuner software. I had perfect idle when I locked the software in open loop fueling (not now available) but this caused a few drivability issues so was not released in version 2.

The lumpy cams dosent effect the way it drives I wouldent want to compromise the drivability But I'm sure I can improve the tick over without losing the drivability Will report when I get time to do a bit more

Chill Adding some ignition advance to the idle shouldn't effect drivability but give it a try and see.

Yep going to do this next week as im getting bored of waiting for the 1st of march to tax the car,

done the oil change today and also checked the steering rack is ok

might even have to clean it next week

one more thing to do before going to MBR is cut the steering rack threads down as the reduce bump steer kit has caused the wheels to toe in a lot

Spent all morning setting up somthing to measure the toe in and toe out on the front of the vx Plenty of measuring and adjusting later and cutting down the steering rack got the desired toe correct ( well straight ish for going down to MBR ) Role on the 1st of March then I can tax the car
