Well done and as the others have said hats off to you. The work you do really helps people like me who have both little time and detailed knowledge of OBD software

Did you find a partner for the bmw nick,
Afraid not Chris, shame Joe it really is a great learning to drive tool

I got a slight missfire again on the way back from Bedford on Monday they were ngk 7s which were in the car I also think there was a slight missfire at Bedford within the three laps I did 🙄 When I got home I changed the plugs for the original Saab spark plugs 6s ngk the car immediately ran smoother on tick over and the car ran all the way to the limiter without issues and the car seem to be generally smoother The reason why I have mentioned this is because a number of Saab users have developed a missfire and my question is Is my missfire related to others Is my missfire because of the plugs being to cool and fouling Or have my plugs damaged ???

I had this issue on my OSF: http://www.vx220.org...-sensor-cables/

Surprised at how far back I needed to strip the cables, there was corrosion along the wire.

The 2.2 uses ion sence to control timing and this seems to make it sensitive to plugs. I went back to original this service any got much better idle (I know this is not an option for Saab engines).

The standard Saab plugs NGKR pfr6d-10g Are the same all but the number as the BKR6EIX IX iridium I've just got some BKR8EIX IX iridium NGK 2668 And will also order some BKR7EIX IX iridium NGK2667

I even changed them around twice as I didn't believe the difference was the plugs Even reving up through the range with the standard plugs is so much smoother than using the bkr7E plugs which have a V cut nickel electrode Unless the plugs have failed somehow I'm beginning to think this may be part of the issue I had on the RR

Could be... Failing plugs, misfire detection, fault safe mode...

The LSJ's often use the BKR7E with good success (just replace often), but then we have 4 direct coil-on-plugs and no ion sensing cam timing module.

You mean go back to standard z22se plugs, which we can't because we use tapered plugs the same as the turbo owners in our Saab conversions

I've never heard of this ion sence and is a new concept to me I've done a bit of reading about it So please correct me if I'm wrong Is this in the coil pack And is it only used as a knock sensor on our engines? Does this cut spark when it is triggered ?? And could this be linked to the so called soft limiters which some have thought they have had As I don't have the issue on the standard spark plugs does this sound as if it was the old plugs with a issue or past there best ( Ngk7E ) due to the resistance feeding back to the coil pack ?
